Two days ago (11/01/22) I underwent an upper endoscopy for some stomach issues.  About 4 hours after I got home, I experienced sinus congestion and a an extreme runny nose, mostly on the right side.  I stemmed the symptoms by taking some Benadryl and Sudafed. It dried me up some, so I stopped the Benadryl. Today I still have some sinus congestion and runny nose and l have developed a sore throat.

Any thoughts?

Hey.

Sinus problems and a runny nose after an endoscopy can be caused by a reaction to the sedative used during the procedure. It is also possible that the endoscope irritated the mucous membranes in the nose, causing the sinus problems and runny nose. If your symptoms persist, it is best to speak with your doctor.

Did Benadryl help over time?
