Need help - dark orange mucus coming out of my nose!

I have the same thing. #7 and never had this kind of color come out of my body. The last two nights it was after showing when it really seemed to loosen up and drain so maybe use alot of steam to help if you're all congested. I've had the cold and cough for a little over a month now so hoping this is it finally breaking up. Good luck everyone!

same problem, thin orange nasal discharge out of right nostril- got it after coming home to florida from Washington , D.c., suspect it is temperature change to blame/ sinusitis...

I FINALLY figured out what the Orange stuff is in everyone's mucus. It's blood. I have had a green very smelly mucus for at least three weeks. For a few days I really dried my nose alot and it got to where when I put tissue in the nose it would pick up spots of blood from being dried out. Then my nose bled, and after that my mucus was orange. So when the mucus is coming down the nasal passage its picking up blood and it turns orange. This can also happen when there is bleeding around the sinuses. This is no cause for alarm. It's nothing. It's just when your nasal passage is dry and bleeds.

The real problem is I'm sick and tired of my mucus being smelly, like death, and tyhe antibiotics they gave me didnt work.

had the flu 3 weeks ago. turned into a nasty cold. now have orange drainage from nose. good to see it's nothing serious.

I had the flu like four/five weeks ago...mucus went from brown to weird kinda orangey brown to blood. My nose has bled now for two days straight. I didn't go to the doctor for the flu and haven't gone for what i suspect is sinusitis. So that rules out side effects of antibiotics for me. I just wonder how long this is going to go on, i haven't smelled or tasted anything for over a month!

I have been sick for the past 4-6 weeks off and on with flu/cold symptoms and the last bout of it I felt horrible..........my head and ears were hurting very badly and my face had a lot of pressure pain. I started blowing out neon orange mucas and it was shocking to me..........kinda scared me.............I've had several sinus infections in the past and have never seen this color of mucus. I went to the doctor last week and was prescribed a strong antibiotic with astelin nasal spray for a severe sinus infection. This is now day 3 of antibiotics and I am feeling much better and the mucus is not nearly as orange as it was.......but still feeling some pressure on my ears. I really thought that my ears were infected not my sinuses........but the doc said ears were just a little inflammed due to the sinus infection. Hope this helps.

ive had cold for a month with cough.
three nights ago i was up all night with toothache which
went when i blew my nose.
today when i blow it is like orangejuice.
no return of toothache.

Well I currently have the orange discharge also. It went from clear to yellow to green to brown to orange. Very strange. A previous poster said that he had heard of divers with this problem. I used to be an avid diver but never had this exact problem.

I did however have a clogged sinus/sinus squeeze once that made a popping noise when I tried to blow my nose. At the popping noise it discharged about a half a cup of bright yellow liquid almost the color of egg drop soup ( not to gross anyone out).
To bad we havnt got a professional answer here.

This happened to me several years ago - I was sick for about 6 months with a chronic sinus infection/tonsillitis - so I decided to only drink water for three weeks, I smelt a strange smell all the time too. after about two weeks I started blowing out of my nose dark orange snot, soon I got better.

I had the same orange goo this am after bending over to try to puke.

I have had a cold for about a week. Then 2 nights ago, I got sucker punched and knocked out and fell backwards on concrete splitting my head open. I went to get checked and had a CT scan scheduled for next week to check for bleeding on the brain. Today the doctor called to see how I was doing, I said ok, been taking advil for the head pain. He said Do Not take advil which i had just taken about 3 minutes before. He also said to be sure to get the CT scan asap. So then i try to throw up the advil and immediately after comes this orange brown stuff out of my nose. Scared the crap out me.

So I then decide to go immediately to the ER. They perform the catscan and no bleeding on the brain, thank god. He did say that I had a bad case of sinuitis and that is what the color was coming from. Prescribed me antibiotics and such so i should be ok. Should mention the previous doc also had me on antibiotics adn that i guess is why the orange goo appeared.
