Fear That The Baby Will Be Born With A Physical Defect
In addition to the traditional fears that come with pregnancy is the fear of having a baby that is physically handicapped or has a physical defect. It could be that you are afraid of the cost to care for them. Surgeries to correct physical defects are costly, so are rehabilitative therapies. It is common to be afraid that something may be wrong with your baby. There are tests that your doctor can perform to rule out life threatening conditions or catch them before they become an issue. These tests can go a long way to ease your mind.

Although, no matter what you do sometimes a mental disability cannot be prevented and you will accept it and love your baby just as much whether he or she has a mental disability or not.

A Still Born Baby Is A Tragic Loss
You made it through your pregnancy and childbirth wasn’t as big of a nightmare as you thought it would be. The problem is that the baby was stillborn. It is tragic to carry a baby for nine months only to have he or she be born deceased. You will naturally be depressed and angry wondering why it happened to you. You will go through the 5 stages of grief. Do not keep it in, you experienced a tragedy and you have to deal with it. Not everyone will be able to understand but they will feel as badly as you do, almost. They are not mourning the same loss you are, they are mourning for you having to experience the loss. The loss of a child at birth, is still the loss of a child and it is the most unnatural and devastating loss anyone can experience!

Fears Many Pregnant Women Have About Labor And Delivery
It is natural to have fears about labor and delivery when you are pregnant. The most common fear is of the pain that will be experienced while in labor and giving birth. You may also fear that something may go wrong, or whether you're going to know when you go into labor? You should discuss these concerns with your doctor or midwife. These fears are common and nothing to be ashamed of. Make sure that you discuss your fears and ask your doctor or midwife questions so you can put your fears to rest. Your physician or midwife will be able to ease your fears not only about the pain but also about the epidural (if you choose to have one.)

Fear Of Scars Left Behind After Birth
You might be afraid of the scarring that can occur after childbirth. There are two main ways that scars will form after the birth of a child; these are from having a caesarean section which will leave a scar behind as it heals. The other is from stretch marks. Stretch marks are the result of the body expanding to accommodate the baby as it grows. Only the woman unable to deliver naturally will have scars from a C-section or an episiotomy if they are cut to accommodate the baby. You cannot prevent a surgical scar but you can lighten it by aiding the healing process. There are a good amount of creams available to help lighten the scars. Don't beat yourself up over a scar or stretch marks - look at your beautiful baby, I'm sure he or she was worth it!

It can make you feel horrible, but unfortunately it’s a consequence of pregnancy. You can use all the miracle creams that you want, but if you want to start combating it you have to lose some of the weight and stay hydrated. Exercise can help you tone. You don’t want to obsess over the cellulite or it could take over your entire life. Simply make sure that you keep the area and yourself hydrated while you work on losing the extra pounds.

Fear Of Not Being A Good Mother And Raising Your Child Right
It is a common fear, especially among new mothers that you are not going to be a good mother or raise your child right. It’s your job to be supportive of your children, not perfect. Motherhood can be difficult and it is up to you to do the best that you can. That’s an impossible goal, you have to let your children know that you are there for them and do the best that you can. There is no wrong way to raise your child so long as you are present in their lives and supportive.

Fear Of Your Baby Being Misplaced Or The Armband Being Labeled Wrong
In hospitals there is a common fear among new mothers that their baby is going to be misplaced or switched because the armband is labeled wrong. Everyone has seen it in TV - movies about babies that were switched at birth because the armbands were switched in the nursery. These fears are common but not necessary new. Check your baby's arm and foot band as soon as they is put on them! Also check your own armband that has your baby's information on it. When they make out the card that is attached to your baby's bed check and make sure it is right. As for misplacing your baby, that is not likely to happen. If in the rare event you baby is placed in the wrong bed the armband will clear up any mistake immediately. Your baby doesn’t leave you but for a few minutes and the armband is on them before they do. The rest of the time the baby is with you in your room unless you request otherwise right up until the time that you leave the hospital with them.
