8 cups a day of water and like 30 minutes of exercise a day is what everyone says also someone said no eating after 6pm helps (idk how but...) You should eat 6 small meals a day then you will be eating less than the usual 3 big meals. Also I started counting calories and it helped me lose like 5lbs fast -keep a calorie journal and write down everything you eat you shouldn't go under 1200 calories becuz thats bad for your health but if you want to know exactly how much calories you can have go to this link: http://health.discovery.com/centers/heart/basal/basal.html - This site will tell you your basal metabolic rate (BMR) just put in your age height and weight and it will show you your BMR once you know your number subtract 500 from it and thats how many calories you should have a day.

Before you start any diet you should have a thorough physical exam.
Remember too, you're probably going to be having a growth spurt soon and you need adequate nutrition for growth. Cut out the sodas and the snacks but be sure to eat well balanced meals. Like daisy says, smaller meals more frequently are better.

when i was 14 i slit my hole nee open and had to get 40 stitches wasent in school 4 a month and my mom fed me fast food day and night and i got realy fat now im 17 and im skinny i still have man boobs but im skinny puberty should help u with that

Guest, how much do you weigh right now? You haven't mentioned this at all in your post and no one has asked. If your 12 wouldn't you be in middle school, 8th or 9th grade?
