I'm 16 and i have really bad bunions, the pain started when i was about 12. I have been to see specialists who have told me that nothing can be done until im 18 because my feet are still growing, I have been a size 6 ever since then. Recently i have went back to the doctors as my feet are really sore all the time. i wear flat shoes all the time apart from weekends, when if im out i'll wear high heels, which i find more comfortable than flat shoes. Im due to see someone about my feet soon and was wondering, do both feet get treated at the same time? and when will i be able to wear shoes after the operation? and also will i be able to wear high heels, not straight away obviously but after a while?

Hi there, as best I know you'd be able to wear wear shoes after the operation after a couple months and yes, I think that even wearing high heels might be an option--but I don't know your individual case. Can you tell me if you can consult with your doctor?

You definitely should not be wearing high heels at all - even if they feel better and make the bunion less noticeable they will be making it worse every time specially if you big toe is already angled in.
Good luck though.
