I am 18 years old. I got my first period when i was in 8th,to be exact in November 2009. It has been irregular for the first two years and after that during one of my checkups a doctor found me to be obese and tested me for PCOS. And i was found to have a cyst on my ovary. After that i just thought that it was normal to have late periods in my condition and never kept track of it although i believe it was always irregular. Recently i became consious and i tracked it for the last two cycles n found that my first period was 5 days late and the second one is five days early. Please help me in my case. Is it also true that if you have irregular periods you can never be a mother? And whatabout if you have PCOS?

Hi there
Yes PCOS causes so many related health issues - will mention them below -
The most common immediate symptoms are anovulation [no egg release from ovary], excess androgenic hormones [male hormones], and insulin resistance. Anovulation results in irregular menstruation [periods], amenorrhea [absence of periods], and ovulation-related infertility. Hormone imbalance generally causes acne and hirsutism [facial and chest hair or just hair at other places not considered feminine]. Insulin resistance is associated with obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol levels. The symptoms and severity of the syndrome vary greatly among affected women.I suggest you follow doctor's advice - I am sure one of them is to loose excess weight - just normal height to weight ratio. Good luck
