After a month or two going to the doctor because I've been having the same issues we find that there is NOTHING wrong with me other than HeartBurn. HeartBurn can cause these symptoms easily. I was having terrible pains in my chest. Bloating, irritable bowels, burning, and these huge upchucks of acid into my esophogas at times that would throw me out of my chair.
Guess what. I found the solution. Oh, yes and I'm 19 years old and have been lied to by doctors. Prescription drugs for acid reflux just make sh*t worse or don't work at all.
THE solution: Apple Cider Vinegar.
Yes, it was as simple as that. Just drink a small amount of apple cider vinegar with some juice or just mixed with water and it a short time you'll feel MUCH better. I'm still healing up from being burned so bad I still have a little bit of pain in my center chest, but no random pains and no scary BOOMS when the acid comes up. I'll be healed in no time cause of the apple cider vinegar. Just take it after you eat with a little bit of juice or water and it will most likely clear up the symptoms you're having - Which I had too.

wow, this almost seems like an epidemic :-)
I've had sharp pains in my chest too several times and I do also have heart problems, but I've been always told that the pain can come when there is something wrong with your chest bone structure. %-)

I'm a 19 yr old female 5'3 and weight about 100 lbs I've been feeling these sharp chest pains for about 3 yrs now. Unlike the ones that I've read of, mines are sometimes so intense they make me cry. I've gone to the doctor twice and both said i as fine.. I did notice they began when I suddenly lost 25 lbs in 2 months without even trying and haven't gained a lb since!! I also noticed it hurt when I was around ppl smoking.. My gynelogist found some sort of fluid in my breasts and said it was due to caffeine but that it wasn't bad at all they will go away once I stop drinking caffeine. I still don't believe i'm perfectly fine. Does anyone else notice the same things or feel when those pains are coming!?!?

i am no doctor but i am about 90% sure that the pain both you and i suffer deep in the chest is related to lifting to heavier weight either at the gym or work, it comes and goes randomly but the pattern is stress related on the muscles and cardiovascular system.

well i am 19 years old female, and i have the same problem as everyone here ... i went to the E.R. more thn 2 times, becuz of my sharp chest pain, i was super scare tht i was going to have a heart attack, but they did EKG, XRAY everything u guys can imagen, and the doctor told me tht i was fine! he also told me "u r a young lady, yu cant have a heart attack, is like a baby being pregnant, or see a zebra walking on the streets" and i though tht was so funny and he told me tht there was nothing to worry about, so i told my doctor and she told me tht i have very very panics attack, so she will help me out ....
Why am i telling yu this ..
becuz something we freak out, becuz we think is something serious but is not like tht, we r super young and nothing bad can happen, and becuz we r not use to the pain, never haded but now we do and tht makes us, go out of control en the first thing tht we wanna do is to go to the E.R. and get a doctor etc. Yu can do all tht, but the doctor is going to tell yu, "yu r fine, there is nothing in there yu can go home." so talk to yur doctor and avoid going to the E.R.
ps. dont take any medications, becuz sometimes they give yu pain killer all those stuff, when yu really dont need it ;-)!!!

I've had this since 1995.
It's anxiety / panic attacks.
Absolute nightmare to start with and very very scary. Once you come to terms with what it is things become much better.
I still suffer now some 15 years later but can control it.
Alcohol is my achiles heel to this problem. I drink probably too much but certainly do not have a problem. The day aftyer alcohol definately brings on my symptoms. Find the correct breathing techniques. Breathing is a major key to the whole thing.
For the pounding heart avoid alcohol and spicy food, especially late at night. Try to increase your pottassium intake.
All the best - dont worry, as hard as this is!

My boyfriend has had the same issues as all of you including dizziness, spotty vision, and racing heart beat among many other issues. He has had every test in the book done and right when he was about to give up he went to the mayo clinic here in AZ and they gave him a beta blocker and semi diagnosed him with POTS even though it is usually only found in women. The medication saved his life he says. He started having racing heart beats and dizziness when he was 13 yrs old and he didn't start taking a beta blocker until about 5 yrs ago he is 30 yrs old now and doing much better. We are still looking into some other issues he has been having that the beta blocker does not help, so if anyone here knows anything that may be the cause of all of these issues please let me know. Here is a list of all the symptoms: dizziness, confusion, spotty vision, pounding fast heart rate, ringing ears, constant urination (at least 10 times per day), abdominal pain, GERD, food sitting in his stomach undigested for hours, nausea, cold hands and feet, gasping for air from a dead sleep at night, sleep apnea, feeling faint constantly when standing up and sitting down.

I know what you guys are saying. I feel some of the sharpest pains in my chest, and I don't exactly feel like I'm ok. I suddenly run out of breath by doing just a simple walk. I'm 19 years old, weigh approxametly 161 lbs (shoes, and stuff in pockets may tip the scale off a little when weighing.) I don't smoke, nor drink any alcoholic beverage. There's also a history of heart problems throughout my family tree. Is it serious?

Hi guys, I have Wolff Parkinson White Heart Syndrome, And I get episodes that kinda sound like that, im 20 yrs of age and I was born with it, and sometimes you won't get these episodes till late teens to early 20's even later, your pulse will run from 170bpm - over 300 bpm it all depends how bad it is and you get short of breathe light headed, even result in feinting and sharp pains, and when it goes away its a horrible short pain then you feel back to normal also you get realyl white colored and cold sweats, I can just stand up fast or a short walk or just be sitting and I can get these and feel like Ive been running a mile or something, you might get checked out for it, just mention you wanna get tested for WPW or Wolff Parkinson White Heart Syndrome Hope this helps!

So does everyone drink on here, because i'm having the same problems. I'm starting to wonder if it has to do with our livers and that drinking is slowly causing the pain to increase. Maybe the lack of filter is causing our hearts to over work, which could lead to an intense pain in the chest area. I'm not a doctor but i do pay attention to my body and anytime something like this happens the background that we each have could explain exactly what we need to fix. It seems as though were all between the ages of our 20's and in good shape. Does any use adderal or have ADHD?

I hope none of you mind my adding my two cents. The problem that started this discussion and others replies seem similar, but there are a few that are not the same and might be something different. Different things have come up such as heart burn, preventicular contractions, and anxiety. After looking these things up I should state this...talking to a doctor is always a good thing even if they later tell you you are perfectly healthy. If it's heart burn or acid reflux you will be able to know quite quickly and the simple application mentioned would be great if you wish to try it out as would trying to take in other base liquids and foods. As for anxiety, yes it is possible, but so many such symptoms seems a bit much for anxiety attacks so unless you are very stressed from work, keeping in shape, your diet, or other issues and fears it might not be it. If you are stressing yourself out I think it's time to put in for some relax time, ease up on the exercise routine, give yourself more time to sleep or casually eat your meals, take longer showers/baths, do other things that allow your mind and body to just lay in a confrotable period of no worries. Even thinking about your plans and what needs to be done, should be done, how, when, why, etc can add up. Now as for this preventicular contractions thing, I looked it up and a bit of it does seem similar...however...for some of it's assistance in help is TO exercise and eat right which many of you already are which makes this less likely. If it still is possible you SHOULD see a doctor, mention your conscerns and check as this is sometimes a symptom of certain diseases and illnesses. Well as a final note and something that I thought about since reading from the beginning perhaps you should look at your intake of stimulants. And I don't mean drugs, necessarily. I mean caffeine, pills, dietary supliments, certain foods, and other things which naturally or otherwise increase your heart rate. To many or to much of these things mixed with your active lifestyles could possibly cause these issues. It's your body being fed to much to push the heart further added on to activities which already have your heart pumping. So my own suggestion is to perhaps look into these things and see if they might be part of it and if so maybe back off on them a little. lol Still, all these ideas and suggestions are good. Don't get paranoid and don't stress out to much. Just see a doctor and see what they have to say. Do some research yourself and see if it's something simple like anxiety or your food and drink intake. If you have any conscerns about whether it might be something bring it to the attention of a nurse or doctor, they might be able to assure you if it's not or help you if it's possible. I hope this helped anyone still looking on here. :-D

I'm currently 18 years old and this has been happening to me for years. Feels like a strong pressure or stabbing pain in the middle of the chest, hard and sometimes fast and irregular heartbeats. I'm not a doctor so I honestly have no clue what is causing this. I believe it may be caffeine related as I am currently experiencing all of these symptoms (hence my posting here) and I am on mu 2nd Mountain Dew tonight. Holding my breath for short intervals seems to help subside the pain a bit but nothing really works besides just fighting trough it. I've considered going to a doctor but I doubt this is anything serious.

It sounds like you all have one thing in common. YOU ARE ALL ATHLETIC. mY FRIEND HE HAS THE SAME CHEST PAIN BUT HIS HEART STAYS THE SAME. So I dont know I would say probably lock your self away in bed no stress no nothing just anything that will not annoy you. Bed Rest. ya get up to go to the bath room or to eat but stay in bed for a few days or a week. Maybe your bodies need it. No im not a doctor but I know when I hurt i do that and it helps alot. And I just need to convince my buddy that he needs to try this.
