When I was pregnant with my first daughter I was told I had a cyst at like 5 weeks along; it was associated with some bleeding. But all in all my daughter was born full term healthy and happy. Now I am pregnant with my third child and I am 4 weeks along and have a cyst again. I am not worried about it, I know it is just in the nomal stage of things. Please ladies dont worry until its absoulety necessary. Please dont let the negativity fill your brain, trust what your doctors have told you, and always trust your gut.

Hi ladies,

Im 20 years old and am in my 20th week of pregnancy...

You guessed it i too have a cyst on my ovary i cant remember which side they said as it was back at my 12 week scan they identified it. (I had my 12 weeks scan at 10+6 so quite early)

they said it was quite large but for now they are not worried about it, and when i go back for my anomoly scan at 20 weeks they will check it out again it may have gone on its own, stayed the same, or grown.

they just said that if it has grown they will change me to consultant care for the rest of the pregnancy, and if its the same or gone then i can stay on midwifery care.

my anomoly scan is on 23rd dec 2010 so in about a weeks time im so excited about it to find out the sex and to make sure the baby is healthy and comfortable.

The sonographer will then look at the cyst so i will just have to wait and see... I am really quite positive though 1. because of the many stories of women having a cyst and going on to have a full term happy baby. 2. because i have never recieved any pain or bleeding throughout my pregnancy!

Good luck to all! x

When I got pregnant with my first child, I had a cyst on my ovary. My doctor told me that it was common for cysts to develop early on and that they disappear on their own during the pregnancy. Mine, however, did not and continued to grow. Half way through, the doctor decided to have me speak with a cancer specialist to see if they thought it was cancerous. The specialist did not think so and thought I should wait it out and hopefully just have a scheduled c-section and remove the cyst at the same time. Around 32 weeks, I went into preterm labor. They said the cyst had gotten so big it was causing my body to go into labor. They decided to give me some steroid shots for the baby (in case he needed to be delivered during the surgery) and they had to make a 12 inch incision along my abdomen to monitor baby while they removed my cyst/ovary. It turned out it was NOT cancerous, but it was the size of a softball. The surgery went very well. I did develop pre-eclamsia 2 weeks later, but delivered a VERY healthy baby boy at 34 weeks (no problems with breathing or anything whatsoever!) They said this was due to the steroid shot given 2 weeks prior. It can be a very scary situation and hopefully your doctor is monitoring you closely. Best of luck!

WELL IT IS POSSIBLE TO KNOW YOUR PREGNANT IF YOUR ONLY TWO WEEKS IN THE MAKING CONSIDERING I WENT TO THE DOCTOR JUST TWO DAYS AGO AND FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT WITH A CYST ON MY RIGHT OVERY. I THEY TOOK MY BLOOD AND CONFIRMED THE PREGNANCY ALSO AN ALTRASOUND WAS PERFORMED. IT WILL SHOW NOTHING ON THE ULTRASOUND BEING THAT ITS TOO EARLY TO SEE ANY BABY......BUT YES IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT I AM IN FACT PREGNANT.........AT TWO WEEKS

I'm 22 years old and im 2-3 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding for 2 days now. when it started out i was bleeeding clots and my bleeding was just like a normal period. wasnt heavy but also wasnt light. I've had a very large ovarian cyst on my left ovary for years about the size of a golf ball. i went to the ER when I started bleeding and had told me that the cyst could be the reason why I'm bleeding. Has anyone ever experienced the same problem?? Is there a possibility that i could be losing my baby or lose it farther into my pregnancy?

To the woman who says you can't know you are pregnant at two weeks....I am sorry to tell you, but you can actually know that you are pregnant, and only be two weeks along.  As a healthcare provider, you should know this.  I think you may want to go back to school a bit before you try and "help" anyone else out.  Sorry to sound so crabby, but people who think they know everything and don't are one of my biggest peeves, especially ones who claim to be informed.

I am around two or three weeks pregnant myself.  I find out Tuesday when I see my OB.  I too have a cyst about the size of a golf ball.  I thought I may be having an ectopic pregnancy, which has happened in the past, so I went to the ER.  The doctors there told me that the pain I was having was caused by the cyst, and that there was no immediate threat to the baby, but to follow up with an OB.

I noticed that this post is over a year old, but to anyone else that may be reading it.... the best advice I can give is to not drive yourself crazy with worry until you know for sure, and the best way to do that is of course to consult an OB.  Good luck to everyone!!

Not true. You certainly can know if you are pregnant at 2 weeks. The HCG levels may not be detectable until just around that time, but you certainly CAN tell.

Im curious about the same problems.. I went to the doctor a few months ago and he told me that I had a 5cm cyst on my left ovary.. i started birth control to try and regulate it and shrink the cyst, i took the birth control for a month but i had to stop because i was bleeding out of control and it wasnt agreeing with me.. after two months i went back to the doctor today and they done another ultra sound on me, they said my cyst is the same size and now my doctor is wanting me to schedule a surgery to remove my left ovary. Im just so nervous about it because i am 21 years old and me and my boyfriend have been discussing children and I dont have any kids so im very concerned that i may not be able to have them, my doctor told me today that i would have one ovary left and i could still concieve, im just a little unsure if he was being straight forward with me or holding back, because im nervous it will be harder to concieve. Also i am curious if you were to get pregnant with a cyst in my case, would you miscarry? I appriciate anyones opinions! thank youuu!

You can know at two weeks and cyst don't cause miscarriages because if they did I wouldn't have a happy healthy 1year old running around my house.

You will be 4 weeks pregnant at that time. At time of conception doctors already consider you 2 weeks pregnant.
