i have a 89 year old mother who needs to put on weight--- she has been heavy all her life but started looseing weight becauase she was sick of food and couldnt find anything she wanted to eat but soup---i took her to dr. she said se was fine and healthy---but that was 2 weeks ago when she weighted 125 lbs--shes now 113lbs---anyone hae diets to gain weight in a healthy manner? thank you, amy

Often, the elderly tend to start losing interest in food. Sometimes it just doesn't taste right, or may be difficult to chew/swallow. If she hasn't seen her dentist recently, a checkup is in order.
I'm sorry to say that it may also be the beginning of the end.
Keep her comfortable and keep her warm. Smaller meals more frequently are better than big meals. Give her what she wants.
