im 15 yrs old, a couple of days ago i noticed that my vulvar skin was peeling, now i noticed that the skin is slightly darker. sometimes i get a burning sensation and my discharge has a strong unpleasant odor. i havnt had intercourse but i've had oral w. the same partner for over a yr and we are monogamous. what might be wrong?? please help!!!!

had to reply you sound v worried.. i have some of these symptoms too and i am a lot older than you and i have come to the conclusion that this has something to do with a; your menstrual cycle, or, b; an allergy.
i have noticed that when i am mid cycle or ovulating i get v dry down there or dry with occasional gooey discharge that itchs and takes my skin off. i also have pain like period cramps when i ovulate. i got canestin cream at the chemist and it works within a day put it on when u feel this coming on. i have probably been to the doctor a few times since i was your age over this and nothin has shown up, go yourself to the doctor for peace of mind but if not try the cream. if you asked you would find a lot of women have these complaints but dont talk about it. good luck...

I don't think that it's an STD if that's what you are concerned about, but it could possibly be a a yeast infection if I am reading your symptoms right. Are you experiencing any other sort of discomfort aside from that? I know that you're a little younger so you will have to ask your parents about going to the doctor but don't be embarrassed--it is nothing to be embarrassed about. Just let them know you need to see a doctor okay? And keep us posted on what it is.

most women experience these symptoms at some stage so dont worry, but go to the doctor if you are worried. it could be you get this around ovulation which is the case with me, i use an antifungal cream and it goes eventually. i know it is very uncomfortable and worrying but its nothing serious, we women have to put up with a lot!!!

thank you for your concern! i did have to talk to my mom but she was totally cool about it since she's had this situation before herself. thanks for your concern. i'm currently taking some pills in case that it is an urinary infection and if it doesn't subside, i'll visit a gyno.
