Im a 16 year old male and recently I noticed that I have never felt full always hungry. Just last night I was starving before dinner, I ate two HEAPING plates of homemade spaghetti and meatballs, and 3 slices of garlic bread. When I was done, however, I still had that same empty feeling I was having before and that i was still starving. So i go and get another plate of spaghetti, eat it, wait 10-15 minutes and...Still hungry. So then i ate some ginger snaps and made two pieces of cinnamon toast and still hungry with that same feeling i started out with before dinner. Si then I grabbed a two bottles of water because I read somewher that water could make you feel full and chugged them down. And still felt full, so I thought maybe i wouldnt be full until later. But I was still hungry. Im also only 96 pounds and am pretty much unable to gain weight. Someone help me or give me ideas why I am so hungry! Or if anyone else around my age feels this way

Well, if that is some kind of medical illness then I have it too. I am 14 and always hungry, I have been that way for about a year now. You are 16, which means you are growing, which means you, as well as I, will often not have the feeling of fullness. In one of your earlier posts you also said that you are athletic, which means you have an increased matabolism, so your body needs more food. Don't worry, your normal :]

The only really annoying thing is when you are in school and there is no food around to eat :'( It is kinda funny though when my friends keep asking "Why are you eating so much?"

Hi there, what do you mean by the metabolism being increased? what impact does that have on food? Can you tell me what that means exactly? Thanks!

to health and fitness guy, your metabolism is how well your body is able to make food into energy, and the more energy you use, the more food you needd to provide for and fuel yourself. So if a person is active, they would eat more than the inactive person. so, it basically comes down to the more active you are, the more hungry you are, which leads to the more food you eat. hope that answered your question:]

Hi there, so then metabolism is basically just your level of physical activity? Is that right or am I misunderstanding it? Please let me know. Thanks!

Well, physical activity is what makes your metabolism faster or slower depending on how active you are. Metabolism its self is the thing in your body that converts food into energy, if it does not work than you will get obese, and if it works very well than you will stay in shape or slender.

Ah okay. So that would be why they say that metabolism changes for people as they get older. I never really understood that. Thanks for all the help!

Even though your name says that you're the young one, do you have a medical background or anything like that? I am just asking out of curiosity...
