Hello tallent,

As meier already explained, amalayse is an enzyme that plays important role in digesting food. Our body produces it and excretes it when you chew food, in saliva, as well as when you digest food. It helps to break down food so it can be further digested in your stomach, into nutrients that can be absorbed by your body. It’s produced in pancreas and small intestines.

It’s sometimes used as a supplement to help with digestion, because it plays a vital part in helping to digest foods that contain high amounts of carbohydrates. This supplement is usually needed when you don’t eat enough fresh food that does contains enzymes, because cooking, microwaves and baking destroy the enzymes that can be found in food.
