Hi, folks. My husband survived one heart attack. Doctors would like to perform a surgery on him. I would like to know whether any of you has experience with coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. I would really appreciate that. Thank you in advance for all your further replies. Bye, guys!

Hello, there. CABG is one of the most performed major operations in USA. CABG makes new ways for blood. It makes vein grafts and makes bypass around narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. My husband had this operation last year. His grafts are still passable. Of course, he is on Aspirin till the rest of his life. As far as I know, 2/3 of operated patients have their grafts passable for next 10 years. Your husband should discuss this with his cardiologist. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
