I'm still kind of new to running, although I've been doing it on and off for a while. I've never competed or anything, so I don't know if my goals are reasonable. I'm slowly training up for a marathon, although I still struggle with running a 10k, so I have a long way to go.
My times right now are (I've only ran each distance once lately):
5k: 29 minutes
10k: 57 minutes
The 5k seems slow in comparison to the 10k because my 5k loop is mostly uphill, but when I do my 10k, I do the loop twice, once uphill and then downhill.
I'd like to get my 10k down to 50 minutes, and my 5k down to 23 minutes by the end of may. Does this seem like a reasonable goal? Could I aim higher or should I lower it a bit? I'm not exactly sure how much improvement is possible over that time period, so I'm taking a guess at it. Thanks.

I don't think that you could get it down to those that quickly. I think a better idea would be to set those as your goals for the end of spring, or to make 25 minutes for the 5K and 53 minutes for the 10K by the end of May.
But don't listen to me, go get em!!! :D
