Hello, folks. My friend has been diagnosed with infective endocarditis. This made me thinking little more about this disease. I would like to know if there are people who are prone to getting affected by this disease. What do you think about this? I would appreciate all your replies. Bye, folks.

Hello to you too. There are people who are prone to getting infective endocarditis. They should be extra careful. First ones are those who have already had this disease. Others are the ones who have certain heart structures damages. There are special instructions for prophylaxis. Those people should know this. I hope I’ve helped a little. Good luck to your friend! Bye!

Hi, there. I agree with the previous post, but I would like to add something. There are some procedures that bring high risk of infective endocarditis. First one and the most common is any dental procedure. Childbirth, any gynecological or obstetrician procedure are also risky. There are other procedures like: procedures on bladder or urine system, procedures on gullet, intestines or stomach, procedures on airways, etc. Intravenous drug addicts are at special risk. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need some more details. Bye!
