Where is the area of the brain the regulates/controls sleep?

It is the hypothalamus that is a key neural region in the regulation of sleep. Its anterior part is implicated in sleep facilitation and the posterior hypothalamus acts in a balanced way to maintain wakefulness.

Hello there,

Since Terence has answered your question I believe that you are satisfied with the answer. Also I was wondering were you just curious about this or something else is in question. If you by any chance have trouble with sleeping you really need to consult your doctor about this. I know that the easiest way to try to find out what is wrong with you is to find the solution on line, but most of the time you are just guessing what it could be. So if you think that you have some kind of problem the best is to consult medical expert.

Please, let us know if this is the case and what is happening. Good luck.
