Hi,
I am 32 weeks pregnant. Everything is just fine and gyn says that everything is ok with the baby. Is that normal? Is there any young or experienced mothers here?

Hello there,
That is perfectly normal to have back ache during your pregnancy. Every woman experiences that pain during pregnancy. There are some exercises that will ease your pain… otherwise that is normal, whether severe back pain is not normal, especially if a woman has fever or other symptoms. This can be sign of infection or complications.
Some abdominal pain is normal during pregnancy, on the other hand severe abdominal pain or cramping never is. If you feel really strong pain whether back ache or abdominal pain, call your doctor!

Hi flossi,

I have to agree with gerling, almost all pregnant woman experience back ache, because the growing baby puts additional pressure on both internal organs and the spine. This pain becomes stronger toward the end of pregnancy, when the baby is bigger. Still, I would definitely phone a doctor because there is abdominal pain also.

Chances are that these are just false, or Braxton-Hicks contractions, especially if there are no other alerting signs and this is our first pregnancy. But at 32 weeks pregnant, it’s better for both you and the baby to confirm this with the doctor. Usually, you just need some extra rest. As far as the backache is concerned, there is little that can be done but to find comfortable position that helps to ease off the pressure.
