Hi there, the only behavioral change I can think of that of frustration by the elderly person related to bladder infections. I don't think that there's anything that would cause the behavioral change like as an infection itself though. What do you think? Have you heard anything else?

Hi It is EXTEMELY common for urinary tract infections to cause massive personality changes in the elderly - in fact it is usually the dramatic change that causes the pt to be taken to the doctor in the first place. if your relative is still experiencing problems 3 days after meds have been started, ensure the doctor sees them again, tests theie urine specifically to find which antibiotic the bugs are sensitive to, and dont accept them messing around.
Urine infections in the elderly are very serious and need to be targeted quickly. Ensure oral intake is adequate and if necessary arrange hospital admission - especially if they are off their legs.
