Hello. I have a son that is 4 years old and he has constant bladder infections. This is the third time now. He said that it hurt him when he pee, and I noticed that he wasn't well, so I took him to the doctor. He is being treated with antibiotics again, and I think that I must have been doing something wrong because this is the third time. What can I do to prevent him from getting infections again?

Some kids are prone to bladder infections. But you can help him to minimalise the risk of it. Your child needs plenty of fluids, that is very important. The food is also a big factor. He should eat lots of vegetables, fruits and grains. Some studies say that cranberry juice is great for prevention of the infections. Encourage him to urinate often. That is about it.

I know this is an old question, but one thing you can do is make sure not to give bubble baths. Those can cause all types of infections, especially UTI, if given too frequently.
