I'm just wondering should I be worried or see a doctor or take a test? I've been on birth control for about a year now and I've had no problems or anything. I went on antibiotics for strep throat about three weeks ago the 26th of may. I knew that antibiotics will alter the effects of my pill. I didn't finish all the prescribed meds and stopped taking them after one week of taking them. And I had sex aprox 24 hours later maybe a bit more, still continuing with the pill. I haven't had any symptoms of being pregnant. But then I got strep again (I think, I mean it was the exact same symptoms minus the fever) And I went back on the antibiotics that I was supposed to finish and never did. Now that I've finished them I'm fine and I've had protected sex. But now I'm feeling a whole new sick and my nipples have been so so sore and they get hard off and on throughout the day and stay hard for a while and they hurt. Should I be worried that the effects of the meds and birth control were still messed up when I had sex a week ago? COuld I be pregnant?
I would definitely take a test, that is the only real way to know for sure if you are pregnant or not. As you said the antibiotics do alter the effectiveness of the pill however, I am not sure how long it will alter it for. I think the only way to find peace of mind would be to take a test because those are symptoms of pregnancy. Also sometimes you can get a false negative for a while, even up to a few months after conception, so if you get a negative but the symptoms continue I'd call your doctor.
