I have been reading the posts on this site. I would suggest that anyone having problems with sinus, ear pressure, dizziness please check out an UNCCA chiropractor. He works on the bone in the neck and also spine issue. It has to be this kind of chiroproctor (UNCCA)..Upper Cervical Chiropractor. I have been dealng with the same issues he has been the only one who has helped. I have spoken to others with the same problems and has told me that they were given there life back by going to an Upper Cervical Chiropractor.

Please give it a try I believe you will be very suprised what they can do.

PS I have try every kind of Doctor there is? This is the best.

Good Luck

my ears feel weird i had post concussion and then they said dissociation I agree with. Then now panic dissorder I don't agree with nor do other specialists. The doc thought I had vetigo 2 1?2 yrs ago so gave me some med to try for 2 weeks and I could not handle more than a week for it messed me right up. Put me in some sort of trance and I have never come out of it fully so hard to deal with. If anything this may be the dissociation or symptoms like it for I was fine on the mental front till I tried this med. MY ears though feel so odd like I dont know if full, blocked empty for I have never had problems with them but it really freaks me out ,like i wanna grab them to feel better. I have a neuro appt soon so hopefully they can check it out. Oh i forgot I have almost chronic hed aches , more so pressure in my head like as when u h ave a hangover and someone were to squeeze your head well the feeling though I am hydrated and hardly drink. I also get very cold ears when excersicing and then get dizzy and head aches from back of head to sides. I get very dizzy if passenger of vehicle or movement like "amusemnet park" I will never go there again. Any answers.

While travelling around Australia in 2006 we went for a drive between ATHERTON & GORDONVALE where the highest peak in Queensland is, 1612 metres high. Going up one side was ok but coming down the other side where I've been told there's about 600 bends & sharp turns. Just before reaching the bottom, my ear popped. I've never had anything like that before in my then 65 years. The next morning, I lost the use of my legs & I can't describe the nauseating dizzyness I had the next day. My husband had to hold me up & hang on to me really tightly. My left ear now has continuous TINNITUS & it sounds like I'm standing right next to NIAGARA FALLS it so loud. My balance is very bad, I have constant pressure on the top of my head. I haven't been able to drive since 2006 as I can't turn my head left & right to watch traffic at intersections as I go dizzy right away. I went to a doctor who is a professor at the University. I was sent for an MRI which showed the blockage in my artery & was told that there is nothing that can be done about it. It MAY go away by itself.
Going to Shopping Centres is a nightmare especially when it's crowded. The sound of all the voices send my head reeling. My doctor said it's because the right ear is trying to do the work of both ears & it clashes in the middle making me dizzy. I don't enjoy shopping now. I can't go to the movies which we did once a week. Without my wonderful hubby I would be totally house-bound. He now has to all the driving. Is there ANYTHING I can do for this debilitating blockage? I'm not to get water in the ear. Most days the pressure on top of my head is so bad I feel as though my eyelids are weighted down with the heaviest fishing sinkers. I don't read now & I used read a lot. Sounds are muffled most of the time & it's like having cling-wrap covering my ears. I really need some positive H_E_L_P please. My memory has been affected very badly & I can forget in a split second what has been said to me or if I am about to do something. It goes right out of my head. Being a very healthy person all my life & I don't take prescription drugs, this is not sitting well with me & at times I could easily fall into a state of depression but I try hard not to.

Hey! I know you posted this like 3 years ago but when I read it I got really excited because I have experienced almost the exact same thing myself about a year ago. One Sunday afternoon I suddenly started to feel achy and weak. I had a lowgrade fever but I took some ibuprofen and I was fine the next day. For the next week or so I experienced a pounding noise in my left ear almost like a heartbeat. I didn't think much of it until I started to get random dizzy spells that would last for a couple minutes. And like you said it felt much worse when I tilted my head from one side to the other or turned my head fast in either direction. One day when I came home from school I got a dizzy that was very intense and I couldn't walk right. I layer down on my couch hoping it would go away but it didn't. I remAined so dizzy for about three days that I couldn't go to school or even get up off the couch, causing me to be very nautious. Not only that but my hearing started Togo out as well. My ear felt numb because I couldn't hear the high tones. I was very scared that I had permanent hearing loss so I went to doctor thinking I had an ear infection of some kind. However they couldn't find any fluid in my ear and thought I might have mineires disease. They also sent me to test my hearing and found I had severe hearing loss. They gave me steriods to take that would hopefully restore my hearing and signed me up for an mri. I was very scared and thought I had a tumor. However it turned out I didn't have minears disease or a tumor. It took them a long to give some kind of half diagnosis. I had some kind of virus attacking my inner ear causing my balance and hearing to be distorted. The doctor gave me some excersizes to do to help cure the dizzyness. Things like turning and tilting my head from side to side. Everything that made me more dizzy basically. He said it would help to rebuild the inner ear and return my balance. My hearing only returned halfway after about a month however the rest is permanent. It sounds like you had a less severe case of what I had. But I'm very glad to hear someone else has experienced the same thing. Good luck!

One diagnosis that would fit your picture would be "Meniere's Disease". Additionally, I was in contact with a person from Ireland who also spoke to the symptoms you and I have but with a different twist. Her diagnosis was "facial migraine". She says her vertigo and balance issues begin after a facial migraine starts.

A new device to help with balance etc. has been created. It is the BrainPort balance device made by Wicab.

My fiance has been experiencing popping in his ears and and muffled hearing for some time now. He hasn't been honest until lately about how much he is bothered by it, because he never wants to worry anyone. He has tried several homeopathic remedies to relieve congestion but the symptoms always seem to return.

I just graduated massage school and have been working with trigger point therapy for the last few months and have seen much pain relief in myself and others. The last two days, I worked his SCM, Digastric, Masseter and Temporalis. When I worked his Digastric, he said it caused popping in his ears followed by improved hearing. Yesterday, we have a meal together without struggling to hear one another! He said his hearing is better than it has been for 3 months. We have a lot more work to do to do get these muscles to fully release and remain that way, but we're excited about the improvement. If you have these symptoms, I strongly suggest looking into educating yourself on trigger points and go see someone who can work them out. Trigger point therapy is often the last thing that people look into for a solution to their pain complaint and it provides so much relief. Why not rule it out first?

Good luck everyone

Hello:
I am so pleased to read that you have applied massage for relief of eustation (sp ?) tube pressure issues and middle ear air pressure imbalances that can change the level of hearing.
I have been receiving cranial massage therapy each week for the past four years. I don't know anything about the terminology within the field of massage however I do know that the greatest relief is when the osteopath applies pressure to the mastoid bone area.
I can't imagine how your fiance has coped with the popping and muffled world for so long. I suspect there are times when she experiences dizziness with what is going on.
Has she seen an otologist (ear specialist) about the pressure imbalances? I ask this as I have acquaintances that have had "tubes" placed in the eardrum for pressure issues. It sounds like it would hurt however that is not the case and the immediate relief is reported as being heaven sent !!
One technique I use myself is to pinch my nose shut and then gently blow air into the nostril area ---- this often stops the popping and hearing is restored back to what it was. The hearing-level change is amazing !!
I am so happy that between the two of you - you have found a solution to end the silence that one senses when the ears are blocked.

i have alot of these same symptoms and i went to the ENT doctor which he said it could be a virus, but also said it could be a acoustic tumor in the brain, alot of these symptoms like dizziness and ringing in the ears and feeling like your ear clogged are first signs of the acoustic tumor. Im going back in 2 weeks to get a MRI done to hopefully rule out any sort of tumor. Im only 25 and is scared out of my mind

Hi all - seems like no-one has posted on here for a while......but I thought I would add my 2 cents worth as well. I have had the exact same symptoms on and off for approximately 2 years. The first time I thought I was having a stroke!! :'( The Docs told me it was an inner ear infection even though I presented no cold/flu symptons. After having an "episode" every month for about 8 months, I decided to look a bit further in my diet, lifestyle etc.
Please look at your intake of aspartame (and its related derivitaves) I have found that I am 'allergic' to any synthetic sweetner!! Even the smallest amount can bring on the symptoms. Take a look at all the ingredients on the packaging - especially soft drinks, electrolyte drinks and anything that says NO sugar. Any numbers 900 and above can set me off.....hope this helps you all out there ;-)

hello this may help with what is going on. I recently got with my ENT. I had bronchitis in june along with a stomach flu..this lasted about three weeks a really nasty cough cold flu with cold sores and ear infection..There is a neurological reason for what is going on. Its called a Vestibular Neurological Virus and it gets in your middle ear and destroys the hair cells on the cochlea..and it is permanent..however you can do things to alleviate the symptoms..I have had Myringotomy with tube insertion with drops and all of this does not help..however the doctor put me on Neuroton I started out with level 1 and then moved to level 2..it is working as far as keeping the fullness and the balance in check. Use this along with zyrtec take zyrtec in the morning and one neurtonin..go through your day as normal..as you can..then at night one neurtonin..it does not make everything go away but it alleviates the symptoms to where you can tolerate moving around and doing your job..Always check with your doctor..what is normal for me might not be normal for you..neurtonin is an anti siezure medication but it is used to treat this type of ear disorder..this virus is nasty it lasts a long time..im in my fifth month of having it..I found out not to many people know that this virus comes from the common cold and or flu bug and at any time it can get into your middle ear and destroy it..if you are lucky to have retained any hearing consider it a gift as with most they lose all hearing..and balance..if it is affecting your balance there is a procedure that they can kill the labarynth in your ear and make it so you are not dizzy..this is not an easy thing to go through but just remember you are not alone and two..there are ways to overcome the symptoms..check with your neurologist and have them do tests to rule out blood clots blood disorders and vascular issues as they too can mask many many diseases ..My ENT has been doing this for 30 years and he is an expert in the field..he knew right away what I had and figured out what to do..do not let these other quacks out there tell you its stress and anxiety..they could end up giving you drugs you dont need..You will have anxiety with this virus because it lasts so long..just try to stay positive and do your normal activities dont stop living life..I have had no bad side effects from my medication and I am able to sleep really well at night by taking these..I hope that perhaps you can share with your doctor my story and that it will help with supporting you in this situation..if you need anything..you can reach me on here..Hope that everyone feels better and finds the treatment that they need...Sincerely Lynnsky

About a year ago I starting having occasional episodes of vertigo and a weird combination of feeling like I might black and and panic attack. This happened 2 or 3 times. I went to the ER during one of them and they couldn't find anything wrong except my blood pressure was very high (it is normally fine).

Then last September I awoke one morning with severe room-spinning vertigo. I had had a few hints of it the previous evening. It didn't subside much so I went to the ER again that afternoon. I was quite nauseated. Again they couldn't find anything wrong, but gave me a dose of vallium which helped a lot and I went home.

Since then I have not had any recurances of the severe vertigo, but I have chronic feelings of lightheadedness, mild vertigo and tinnitus and mild tingling in my left hand. My primary dr sent me to an ENT. He ordered a brain MRI which was negative and a cardio exam and ultrasound which was all fine. Hearing is slightly degraded, but within normal for my age (48). The ENT doesn't think it's Mennier's but can't come up with anything else. I've tried low-salt diet and reducing caffeine, but that doesn't seem to help much, if any. Also had a full vestibular test series, which was all negative. The symptoms come and go from day to day, seemingly at random. I've even tried keeping a log to see if I there are any trends but it seems totally random. For quite a while, looking at computer screens made it much worse, but that no longer seems to be the case.

I've always been active - I used to bicycle 4-5 days a week. A year ago I started playing tennis. I can still do these things, but sometimes they make the symptoms worse (sometimes better). I've cut way back on bicycling because I'm afraid of another recurrence of vertigo or possibly making whatever is wrong worse.

I had some severe neck pains shortly after this started and they started me on an NSAID and PT. That's helped a lot with the pain, but the other symptoms persist. My primary dr did a cervical spine xray and said I have compressed discs in my cervical spine. He thinks this might be a cause or contributing to the symptoms and said that will probably require surgery at some point. He wants me to have a cervical MRI, but my insurance won't agree to it.

If anyone has any idea what could be causing this or next steps to diagnose, it would be very much appreciated.
