I have had similar happen many times over years. I either lose my sight completely or zig zags for about 20 min. Arm goes numb. Twice had testing done and I had had a stroke that hit right side of brain. Others were called T.I.AS strokes. Testing for that also found 3 valves in heart not working. Be careful. Now when it happens I just go with it cause hospital bills are several thousand dollops each time and a hospital stay. So if I come out of it and not paralyzed I just live with it now. So in total 6 strokes and 4 of them ishemic strokes so far . Be careful. Each time I get just worse with lots of lasting issues.

I just had my third episode like this. Right hand goes numb, blurry vision in right eye (ribbons / zags), inability to talk (feels like somebody is autocorrecting my words to the wong ones). The first time it happened, two years ago, I could not read or type either. I got a brain scan the next day and they said it was fine, probably a migraine. There is no headache except for a very mild one after the other symptoms have gone away. The second episode was last week, and then it happened again today. My work called paramedics but by the time they put me in the ambulance I was feeling better and told them I'd find a doctor's appointment myself. Turns out it's hard to find a doctor in this country.

I am a 24 year old female, healthy. I'm tall so I contribute some numbness in my fingers to blood flow. I have numbers that normally starts in my left hand and moves to my face, as it moves what was numb before has feeling. The first major episode I had did not have the numbness but I lost my right side peripheral vision and I couldn't think. I couldn't remember what a house was. I did notice they occur more frequently with stress. I went to the doctor and they diagnosed with migraines but I've had 2 headaches that were really bad in my life. I don't think it's migraines. All of the attacks I've had have been without headaches. I had numbness in the back portion of my throat after it started in my left wrist. I have no idea what it is.

I get these and been told they are hemiplegic migraines.. google them and see if the symptoms are the same.. google people's stories and see if similar.. I was told by an ambo to take 3 aspirins as soon as u feel the first symptom... so every time I feel one coming I take three and the symptoms seem to go away faster the quicker I get onto the aspirins

I am getting bad vision where I can't look directly at anything, extreme headaches, and no feeling in my hands, tongue, lips, and occasionally feet. I have this about once a week or more, especially after running. I don't know at all what it is. Please help!

Hi I have all of these symptoms and I was told I suffer from hemaplegic migraine. I had an MRI scan last week so I am just waiting for the results to put my mind at rest to assure me it is not anything more serious. I get this 2/3 times a year, and first started 13 years ago. My dr told me to take an aspirin as soon as I feel like a migraine is coming but this doesn't always work.

I am glad I am not the only one who goes through this. I have had these symptoms ever since I was 14, I am currently 18. First my vision gets blurry, then my hand goes numb, then my tongue and lips, then I feel a pressure around my face, then it goes back down on my other side. I dont know what it is, but it's horrible. Ive gone through this for so long that I have been acustomed to it. Even my doctor doesnt even know what it is. It's sad no one knows what it is.

Good day all,
I got this twice when j was in highschool but figured it was because I smashed my wrist into something. Two years ago March I got this all over my body, I couldn't talk, I couldn't think straight. The hospital thought I was having a stroke. All test came back perfect. But then I started getting them all the time left hand travels up to face sometimes my leg. Then sometimes my right hand. Some are worse some aren't so bad. Around that time last year I got glasses for the first time so after lots of different treatments and medications that didn't work the doctor told me to take off my glasses and to invest in laser eye surgery. Since then the attacks have decreased from almost every day to every two months with the attacks not being to harsh. The doctor warned me I could still get them for the first bit after taking my glasses off. I don't know if they're going away completely or if this helps anyone but I would definitely love to know what this is. We need to figure it out.

Hi, I just want to say that I get exactly the same symptoms. I’ve just had one today. My neurologist has told me they are hemiplegic migraines. Mine start with the vision going funny, like I cant see properly and it’s that eventually goes kind of sparkly twinkly. Then I get a numbness feeling in my hand which travels from my thumb along to my little finger and I also get numbness and tingling in my lips and tongue. Then my speech goes weird and I can’t speak properly. Also if I try to read something I can’t! I occasionally get a bad headache although sometimes I don’t! They are so worrying and I just wish there was a cure for them. I think mine are caused by lack of sleep and hormones and after I had my baby I suffered terribly from them. I would sometimes have four within a 24 hour period which lasted three weeks! Just to let you know your not alone and I have the exact same symptoms!

I'm 41 years old and have had these same exact symptoms since I was around 12. I only get this attack every 3 - 5 years or so and the only thing I've been able to attribute the onset to is pressure changes, which are either weather controlled or altitude related in my cases. My symptoms progress from loss of peripheral vision, mostly in my left eye, then numb tongue and lips on the left side, then numb tingling left hand, then massive headache...all in that order and one at a time. The only remedy to prevent the progression that I've found to work, and this is not something any doctor has ever recommended, is to quickly drink a couple of glasses of red wine. The last three episodes I've been able to avert the symptoms and the worst part, the headache, with this concept. Assuming is relaxed the blood vessels.
