Hi there, kigobear97.

Although both of your parents have diabetes and it's hereditary, that only means you are more prone to it, but it's not mandatory that you'll get diabetes. Bad news is that diabetes can occur at person in the later age.

What you can do to prevent diabetes? Stick to proper diet, keep your blood sugar within certain limits, live a healthy life...

If you get diabetes after all, don't despair. Modern medicine is very successful in treating it, as you can see from your parents. I presume they live with it for a many years now and they are already used to it and diabetes doesn't affect their life too much?

Get your checks regularly and try to prevent diabetes as much as you can, but don't worry too much. As one of the poets wrote - it will be as it must (I paraphrased it a bit). Cheers!
