I'm 28 and have always had a normal period, always came exactly on time, used to be medium flow and cramps for the first 3 days but for the past 2-3 months I would have brown spotting and then a light period with no cramps, and this month it has lasted for 13 days already and still going. Does anyone know why this could be? What could be causing this?Is anyone else having/had these problems?

If you're taking birth control pills, or have gotten off them, it could be the hormonal imbalance causing this.

It could also just be your diet, if you've changed up how you eat, your menstrual cycles will be a little off. Some women who exercise alot and don't eat enough don't even get their periods!! That's really unhealthy.

It doesn't sound too serious, my mum had it too when she was young. She has her period for a month and a half. She went to the doctor and he just prescribed her this old-school Russian remedy capsules (filled with an animals blood) and her periods went back to normal. She never had a problem since.

I know you wont be given animal blood capsules, but if your period doest stop after two weeks, go see a doc. The loss of blood can make you really weak and can hurt your body.

I'm sure you will be fine, lots of women experience weird period periods (lol) from time to time.
