i have a red bump on the lower part of my shaft and it hurts if you try to pop it it what should i do!

Hi, the red bump is probably no big deal. It is just a pimple or an infected ingrown hair.
It is very likely for these bumps to occur in genital areas because they are sweaty, no air, and there are a lot of hairs and hair follicles that can easily get infected.
Pimples can be pretty painful when trying to squeeze out. You shouldn’t do it because you won’t do anything except make things worse. You should just leave it as it takes about two weeks for a bigger pimple to disappear.
You may also try to apply a warm compress on it to try to bring the puss on the surface and drain. Better let it drain itself.
Now, if your girlfriend had any visible bumps on her face, it could be herpes. The herpes starts by swelling and redness and itchiness and then some bumps may appear. But these bumps look like blisters and ooze clear substance at first, later they get honey crusts on top.
If the bump doesn’t go away or it changes its look (besides becoming a boil), you should then report it to your mom.
