I have run a little for years. I am bowlegged and wear my shoes on the outside of the heels. I am heavier now than I like and am running much slower than in the past. I have always thought I was a supinator and bought shoes, when possible, which are for supinators. I use a hard orthotic prescribed by a podiatrist many years ago after a knee problem. Since using the orthotic I have no knee problem. It's time to buy new shoes. Recently I read that supinators wear their shoes on the outside toe....I do not.

My question: How about I buy a pair of well cushioned shoes, use the orthotic and run slower and forget about the outside heel wear? I really would appreciate any thoughts you folks have. Thanks!
