We have just started trying for a baby over the last couple of months. We waited until around 12-14 days since my last period to try properly. About a week later I began to get a dull ache as if it was a period pain for around 5 days. I did a pregnancy test a couple of weeks later but it was negative. I am now 5 days late and took another test yesterday but again it was negative. I now have flu like symptoms and feel tired all the time. Has anyone had the same symptoms or am I imagining this?

Above are some early pregnancy signs, some of the more common ones. In addition, you can also have an altered (heightened) sense of smell and taste, foods that suddenly disgust you, abdominal cramps, bloating, needing to pee more often, and mood swings.
Some people do report flu like symptoms as well, though you never see that listed anywhere. My guess is that this is caused by pregnancy just being hard work for the body, and it can weaken your immune system. That then makes you more vulnerable to illness.
Since you're trying for a baby, I really hope your wishes come true and you are pregnant!
PS: I remember being there! Wondering, can I be pregnant? It was at least five cycles, I seem to remember, before it turned out that I really was pregnant. By that time, I was looking up IVF and stuff like that, and I wasn't getting my hopes up. It will happen for you, this cycle or another. Just be patient.

I am now 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant and right after I found out that I was pregnant I had the flu like symptoms. I had a really bad headache, achy, sore muscles, loss of appetite, nausea, sore throat, and today my head is stopped up. This is my second pregnancy. wait and see if you get your period. wait 10days and if it still hasnt came then test. most tests read false negatives early on in a pregnancy. but you need to play the waiting game, sometimes your period can be late after having sex and you not be pregnant it happens to alot of girls so wait and see if you get it..

Hi, I am currently sick with the flu at least thats what i think it is. I had spotting that was a brownish pinkish discharge, it lasted for a week and a half. I'm very active walk my dog everyday, but for some odd reason i have been bloated and haven't had a period well unless you count the spotting and discharge then i have. I'm not on any kind of birth control, i was there for like a year and got off of it. It was causing me to get sick. Well ive been feeling neausa, stuffy nose, can't sleep at night but during the day thats all i want to do. I haven't taken a test yet for the fact that i told everyone its just the flu because well thats what it feels like, haven't really had an appitate, i love food but for some reason its smells and tastes nasty to me, am i pregnant or is it really the flu?

Hi. I had my period and a few days after it ended i got it again. This time it only lasted about 3 days. It was as heavy as my regular ones and stopped out of no where. I`m on birth control, however i had unprotected sex on the 7 days i`m supposed to not take it. (not smart, i know) I did one of those approximate ovulation days tests online and i guess we had sex while i was ovulating.
I stopped taking birth control after i started experiencing possible pregnancy symptoms, and when my fiancee wants to have sex we use a condom. I`m just scared that the birth control could harm the baby if i`m pregnant. I`ll start taking it again if i find out i`m for sure not pregnant.

hello, i am already a mother of one. but lately i just haven't been feeling right. This morning, I woke up feeling very nauseous. As the day has gone I have felt more and more flu like symptoms. My skin hurts and my muscles are sore. I am just exhausted. With my first pregnancy I had about the same feelings, but not until about a month and a half in, and I was actually admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration. Now I am feeling this way again. I even have really bad lower back pain. My only thing is, I have only been off the depo shot for a month. I was only on the shot for 6 months, but I haven't gotten my period since I have been off the shot. How possible is it to be pregnant? I had my period for the whole 6 months I was on the shot, which isn't strange. I just want to know if it's even possible for me to be pregnant.

I was due to ovulate on the 10/7 going by the ovulation calculator so all of last week except for one day my bf and i had sex, sometimes twice a day. Was all before the day of ovulation and then once the day of ovulation..Is it easier to get pregnant if you have sex BEFORE you ovulate or the day of ovulation??
Since then i have started having some pregnancy symptoms but am not sure if it's just my imagination.. So started with abdominal cramping (constant) for 2 days (could this have been me ovulating?), loss of apetite, tiredness, irritability, sore boobs and very emotional..
Today is only the 13th and for the past say 3 days i have had flu like symptoms.. Started with a sore throat and runny nose and now has progressed to a rather annoying cough and constant runny nose but throat isn't sore anymore..
Yesterday i felt dizzy and light headed all day, struggling to eat any more than two bites of food and feels like i am now starting to get a head cold/ head ache..
So i guess my question to you guys is can i still get pregnant even though i am sick? As i don't want my illness to ruin our chances of concieving, is there anything i can take to make me feel better with out hurting what "could be" in my belly?
Also when i was younger i was pregnant and got an abortion.. WIll this make my chances of getting pregnant the second time round easier or harder as my mum says once you have been pregnant once it's very easy to get pregnant again...? ?
