Hello. I have the same problem now. But I was wondering if the keloid disappeared when you removed your piercing?

I had mine removed by a surgeon but it grew back larger. I have asthma and have been prescribed prednisone and noticed that it got smaller while taking prednisone so I asked my doctor if it was my imagination or if the steroids I was taking for asthma was actually treating my keloid. He said I was correct and if he were to treat my myeloid he would actually do steroid injections.

My cartilage is pierced and my keloid is kind of big but I want to keep my piercing. I saw the string method where you could tie it and cut the circulation but I’m scared to do that and i Don’t have the money to get it surgically removed. Please help.

I had steroids injections on my keloid. It’s on my ear cartilage and about the size of a baked bean or raisin. Anyway I was receiving injections for 3 months, once every 3/4 weeks. And it reduced the size of it by half.

However I had to stop treatment as I was Moving abroad. Thus it grew back to its original size. I might consider going continuing the treatment again if I can get it sorted with the hospital. Hopefully it will minimize as much as possible with a longer treatment duration.

Hope this helps!
