I am 34 years old and I have to say that I am a bit concerned for my health. This is due to the fact I am not leading a healthy life and my father did suffer from arteriosclerosis. Can you prevent that condition? I know that I have to change my life habits, but is there anything else I can do?

Well, you did answer yourself correctly. Healthy life is the best prevention there is not just for arteriosclerosis but for many heart conditions. This means that cigarettes, alcohol and obesity are the main factors for developing heart issues. And once that happen, even though it is treatable, the things will just never be the same including your life quality.

Hello there titos926,

I completely agree with janenna. You have your answer and unfortunately most of the heart conditions run in the family. My grandfather died from heart condition and unfortunately my father has some heart issues so I have decided few years back to stop with unhealthy lifestyle. This is the only way you can prevent not just heart condition but most of the conditions which can endanger your life.

So try to start with healthy diet, because it is easiest way to adjust to healthy food then quitting smoking (in case that you do). And if you drink just try not to do it too often and avoid spirits. I hope that you will manage to lead healthier life.
