I have been going to the doctor for over 6 months now. They cannot figure out what is wrong with me. My white blood cell count is very high, i lose my eyesight all the time, i am tired constantly, my glands in my neck and throat swell up all the time, i suffer from headaches, and all my other tests come back normal. I am starting to feel like I am going crazy. I have been on several antibiotics and steroids that do not help. I have to go back to the doctor today so if i find anything out i will let you know.

The end of Oct. 2007, my WBC was a little high. I had three CBC's in a row over period of 3-4 months. Since it stayed a little over the top of the range--my doctor sent me to a hematologist (blood doctor). On the CBC there are two tests -Test one and Test two and somehow they work together to show how serious the inflated WBC is. The WBC and the LY% are the important ones with me and my doctor says I have C.L.L. (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) and I am in stage ZERO so need no treatment at this time. I am taking an immune system booster (won't list here - may not work) but the nurse and doctor seem to think this is not too serious since it is Chronic and these types of diseases can go up and down. It could be an infection, but my Doctor says it is NOT; so he will just keep an eye on my blood work and hopefully it won't get a lot worse; but if it should get worse, there are medications that may help like "Leukeran".

I have had a history of high WBC count for about 8 years. I have been through every testing the doctors can think of and nothing has evr been diagnosed. I even had a bone marrow test done which was negative. I also have had recurring yeast infections approximately evry two months. I have tried every yeast medication on the market and some even made it worse. Finally, I used a 50/50 mix of water and peroxide douche that I made myself. IT WORKED! I have only had 2 yeast infections in more than a year and they were extremely mild. Use this mix at the first sign.

hello out there, I too have high wbc consistantly 15-17 for the last two and half years. Just went to the Hemotologist and he said i don't have leukemia which was good. he said maybe it's just me. I too am tired all the time. I have gained 60 lbs in a year because of anti depressants. my cortisol levels are high and been watched for possible cushings sydrome or adrenal fatigue syndrome. and just had a mammogram and I know it's my first one at 37 (due to breast disease in the family) but i received a phone call saying they see something suspicious. and need more pictures of the left breast. now i'm wondering if this is why my wbc has been high. It's really bad when there are no clear cut answers!! good luck to all of us still wondering!!

I have been struggling with numerous health problems the past few months. I got diagnosed with Pseudotumor cerebri which they stated is why I was loosing my vision and was having horrible headaches. I had to get a spinal tap and had to have a lot of CSF fluid removed. This disease is rare so they do not know if the CSF will build back up or what. But anyways, on top of this diagnosis, my WBC (white blood count) has been high for months now. I went to see a hematologists who looked at my records dating back to 1998 in which they found I had a slightly high WBC. I am going on Monday to see if there may be an autoimmune disorder which may be related. However, I have been doing research on my own because I have been experiencing several other symptoms which do not relate to either my Psedotumor Cerebri or the elevated WBC. I have felt extremely tired, unable to stay asleep at night, I have been having joint pain without swelling, muscle pain, weight gain, night sweats, lose of short term memory, inability to concentrate, lack of balance and coordination, and lack of ability to exercise (which I used to love to do). I came across an autoimmune disorder called CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). After reading many of the posts, it appears that many people have related symptoms. It says that if often onsets after a flu or flulike symptoms. There is a lot of information on it, unfortunately there is not a treatment. Talk to your doctors about this because at this point it is primarily a disease that is diagnosed upon ruling out other possible diseases. I hope this helps at least one person!!

Constant yeast infections can be caused by birth control pill. Get off of them if you are on them and it will clear right up. I never had another after I quit.

I just got my results back today from a typical physical. My wbc was at 16. My doctor seemed a little concerned. Three yrs ago I had three tests done for other reasons and my wbc was elevated then too (14). I go back to the doctor for another test in 1month. The doctor I work for says this could be normal for me and that the relative "high" number is a guideline. I try not to worry until I'm given a solid reason to. It could raise my wbc to worry :-D

Hi all,
I started having right and left side abdominal pain 3 months ago. Went to ER. Cat scan showed nothing. All was normal but a small ovarian cyst and a high wbc count. Went to doctor ran test again was even higher (went from 13.5 to 16). All urine and other blood tests were normal again. Ive tried 2 antibiotics with no improvement. Pain is dull and comes and goes. I am severely and constantly fatigued. When I try to walk through a grocery store for too long or bend over and stand up from weeding garden I get really woozy and lightheaded. It feels like Im going to pass out but if i sit really quick and wait a few minutes later it will pass. The doctor is sending me to get a cbc again and see if white blood cell has gone down any, if not then hell send me to a hematologist. Its beginning to scare me. Im starting to get depressed because I dont have the energy that I used to. Im in my mid twenties, overweight, and I smoke but generally healthy. Sometimes I have headaches or migraines but not all the time. Im lost. Anybody have any Ideas or thoughts

I have had elevated wbc's since February 2008. I have had many tests ran weekly for about 6 weeks to see how much they changed. My average is around 17,000. I have Leukemia in my family so my family doctor sent me to an Oncologist. From this point they sent me for a CT on my abdomen b/c I had stomach pains, headaches, etc. My spleen looked okay and I had already had my appendix removed. My next step to find out if anything was cancerous was a bone marrow biopsy (by the way it was not as bad as I thought). I had this prodedure in May and everything came back okay. I have what the dr said "myeloproliferative disease" which is a benign disease that affects your wbc count. I have to be checked every 6 months by labs to make sure my wbc count is within range.
