Hi,
I have a 5 year old daughter who has has urinary infections since she turned 18 months. One course of antibiotics do not cure it and sometimes it take 2-3 courses for her to have a clear sample . The doctor has her taking cefalexin when she has an infection and every night she has to take trimethoprim .
She is now one month off her 6 th birthday and the doctor now wants her to try ditropan . Starting with one dose a day building up to 3 . I am now quite concerned that she will be taking 3 different medicines and we have no clue as to how long she will need them .
I spoke to another mum whoes child has these problems but she has never heard of these combinations of drugs . My daughter does not have reflux .
Any help or guidence would be extremly welcome
Thank you
