Following an emergency cholecystectomy three weeks ago, my sense of taste isn't what it was. I used to have to have my coffee very strong but now prefer it weaker, various spicy foods I now prefer not quite as spicy, I'm noticing the flavour of the extra mature cheddar far more, and I'm finding the taste of my favourite wine isn't right?

Just give it time, your sense of taste should return to normall in a couple of weeks or so.
If not you should speak with your docter to see if everything is alright.

I agree. Your sense of taste should hopefully come back. The only time I've ever seen it change permanently if you take certain medications but I'm not sure what they are. How are you doing? Do you have your sense of taste back now?
