I to have clicking in my ears, which you can hear if you put your ear to mine! I have been told by E.N.T. Dr. That it is a muscle spasm of the tubes or ear drum, he put me on medication to help me sleep as it was keeping me awake in the night as it was so loud, I had loads of tests and a M.R.I. Scan but there was nothing found, he did offer me an opperation, but said it could make me deaf!!! So I take the medication every night it is called clonazepam in England and the dosage is 2 mg and I can take 4 per night if I want to, I take 2 at the moment as I did try more but they made me feel spaced out during the day!! I can cope with that dose at this present time, but if I am stressed out the noises are worse!!! He said it's all in my head!!! Ha ha funny, I sympathise with all of you who suffer these noises, I try to have background noise playing all the time T.V. Or radio which seems to help I cannot stand silence, as it drives me MAD!!! Good luck to you all x

since u can control it I think that's interesting, maybe you're showing yourself you have the power, and it must obey. I too am curious to see the inside of my body. the most info I got here was that it's a spasm of a tiny muscle in there, thats what it feels like, but I wish it were an alien I could talk to! it looks to me like you are good natured and can handle it well and since I know that magnesium is a muscle relaxer that is natural, I will go with that. I think being annoyed with it makes it worse and there is something to be said for mind over matter and controlling it the way you have by playing with it. and I don't think it's an alien communication device, but once thought it was a little fairy dancing around, or a cricket singing, all in all it does not foretell a serious illness coming on, I don't think.

Hello Your post is old, I know. But I would like to know if it ever went away and was it stress related afterall?

I know that these posts are a year old, but I have just developed "Geiger counter" type sounds in my ear. I made up a mixture of white vinegar and alcohol, 50/50 percent. After the second application, the clicking stopped. I originally started using this mixture for itching ears, but have been negligent in using it on a regular basis. It works on the itching, and I think it's going to work on the clicking too.

Did anybody find a solution or recover from the clicking? I have it for 3 weeks now, just when I talk or make a certain manauvre with my palette/nose.

It's so rare to see success stories, people rarely post when they are better!

I only had/have clicking when I jog or run. It started after my diagnosis of Eustachian tube dysfunction. It has been 7 months and I can still hear click click like two metal balls clanging together when I run or jog or jump up and down. It stops when I stop moving intensly, but I still don't know what causes it or why it wont go away completely. Im sorry that you experience it when you talk. I have never heard of that. Just wondered if you have tried decongestants or antihistamines. I use nasal saline spray in my nose daily to keep it from drying or clogging so that nothing affects my Eustachian tube anymore. So far so good.

I would also like a response. I'm experiencing the same thing. I would describe the sound to a Geiger Counter. It varies in the frequency of the clicking but when it goes off like a Geiger Counter over a radio active sample I also experience dizziness.
