I've experienced chronic nausea for almost a year and a half now. My symptoms first started about 2 and a half years ago with upper stomach pain right under my breasts, and it would fade away as long as I sat down. If I could not sit down during the attacks, the pain would worsen and it was horrible. It normally came after I ate big meals also. Just a few months ago I went to my GP and he ordered an ultrasound which showed gallstones and an enlarged liver of 17.8cm. The enlarged liver does not make a bit of sense to me, considering I've never had a sip of alcohol or anything that would effect my liver in such a manner. Two winters ago I had one bad day of nausea, and it faded away and I felt OK for the next few months, and now it just stays for weeks at a time. I do get some breaks in the nausea, but only after about 1-2 weeks of suffering with it. I mean, I just got back from New York and I was only slightly nauseous and mostly felt great during the trip. It is odd how some weeks it does not effect me at all, and then the next week I can't do much of anything from how severe it is.  When I do have the flare ups, it has yet to wake me up in my sleep, and I can sleep pretty decently, but after about 15 minutes of waking up, the nausea comes right back and severe as ever. I'm really unsure as to what could be the cause of this, and I see a lot of people my age suffereing from chronic unexplained nausea. It seems to be mostly 20 year old females. I've already seen a gastro and a surgeon about my gallstones and liver. No doctor seems to care or be worried about my liver size, and the only option for my gallbladder is to remove it which I refuse to do. Especially since I see people who have removed theirs with WORSE nausea than before. I just started taking Ginger Root pills, but I don't see much of a difference. I've tried Promethezine and it just knocked me out and didn't make a dent in the nausea. I have Zofran which I will try soon, but I highly doubt it will make much of a difference. The only thing I have been diagnosed with is an enlarged liver, gallstones, hypothyroidism which is under control now, and high thyroid antibodies or positive ANA. That is all! I can handle most of my regular symptoms I experience (Such as high blood pressure occasionally and high heart rate), but this nausea is ruining my life, and making every event miserable. I have yet to throw up, but I have almost thrown up MANY times. I really need a solution to this, because if this is how I have to live the rest of my life, it's going to really bum me out. I take probiotics, spirnolactone, portia (birth control), and levothyroxine. I get dizzy sometimes, but I don't think it has anything to do with my nausea honestly. Could gallstones or an enlarged liver cause severe nausea that will not go away? Any answers would be helpful!!I also feel a little bit better when I'm doing hard work, like lawn care or working outside. It's when I sit down to dinner or just sit down that is just seems to get a little bit worse. I'm not sure if that means much, though. Any help, please and thank you! I'm so sorry for others suffering with chronic nausea, I thought I was the only one so young! I guess not!
