I have had chronic neck and jaw pain for years, and just found a recent swollen (semi painful) swollen gland on right side, as well. There is also ear pain that has been recurrent on the same side as the swollen gland.
I have had these symptoms off and on for many years.
Can you please tell me what this might be caused from and what I can do about it? Do my tonsils need to come out?
Thank you!
Kimberly

I've been having chronic lymph node pain on and off for 4 years. It started with a virus that somehow attacked my thyroid and caused thyroiditis. I've seen a zillion doctors and even had my right thyroid out but the pain continues. I think it's something autoimmune now.

Have you gotten any answers from any more tests? Have you tested for thyroid disease, or Epstein Barr? I do have a high Epstein Barr count.

I recently had a biopsy done by an ENT. Still waiting the results.

Is there a virus that's been brought to the US that doctors just don't know about? I can't help wonder.

Kim,

Please get a hold of me, I have the same exact thing, and I think I have "Ernest Syndrome." Misdiagnosed a LONG time ago as TMJ and TMJ now ruled out. "Ernest" seems to fit the bill! Email me:
