I have recently noticed small gelatin looking lumps in my sperm, and a decrease in the projectile, flow of sperm when ejaculation occurs the lumps look like the silicon pieces you get in those stay fesh packets. I am 38 thanks for any help.
Hi! I can’t say I know what your problem is but I did read that the clumps in the sperm may be nothing harmful and are not necessarily a sign of an underlying disease. They can however, be painful sometimes and their cause might not always be found.

As for the decreased sperm flow, you may have some troubles with sperm delivery system, maybe there’s some sort of an infection or inflammation, maybe there are problems with vas deferens (tubes that carry sperm), or maybe you are experiencing retrograde ejaculations. Retrograde ejaculations occur when semen enter the bladder and stays there instead of being ejected into the outer world through urethra.

These are some things I‘ve been reading that could go wrong but I can’t say with certainty if any of these could be mentioned in your case. Since you have two symptoms, clumps and decreased flow, I would see an urologist and have some tests run to see if there’s an underlying condition or not.

yes, but every problem of this kind requires doctors visit and very soon. so you can try to deal with it and treat it alone, at home, but one question will remain forever - will I have a healthy sperm? I mean, I am a guy and that is one of my biggest concerns ever. I had gelatin clump in my semen a couple of months ago and I went to see my doctor immediately. the good thing was because a diet program affected my semen so it was nothing. he can see this in the texture and color. maybe you have an issue with your glans.

To whoever is interested. I've had the same problem for almost ten yrs and trying to figure out what causes the yellow, sometimes brownish sperm along with those jelly-like substances. I just travelled over seas for a month and returned to discover my sperm had returned to normal, that is white and creamy. I just noticed that after being back for 7 months the problem is slowly returning. I don't buy the notion the sperm changes color, something is causing the change. At first I thought it was the milk, that is the lactose in it, but am now ruling that out. Know I'm focusing on the chlorine in my municipal water. When I was over seas I drank natural spring water directly for the source and feel that may have helped my condition. I've recently been trying the Brita but feel that it is failing as it doesn't remove 100% of the chlorine, so I'll soon be drinking chlorine-free water and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

Just FYI, Steroids can make your penis shrink. I'm not a doctor but if you're having that recently since you've started steroids, I'd quit them. In the end, you have to decide, Manhood or Muscles?

 man,i tried loads and loads of steroids in the past,i have the same problem as you and thats what i put it down too.my honest advice for you is stop the roids at onced and stick to protien and creatine {much safer}.

you should get a course of hcg and clomide and take them when you come off the gear, they sort your hormone imbalance out and put a quick source of test back into your balls again.good luck.

I have had the same problem as noted below for about 6 months. I think the decrease in flow is just due to the thicker consistency of the semen. Has anyone actually received a diagnosis and treated this problem? I went to a urologist last week, and he wasn't really sure.

Any help would really be appreciated.

I've had the same problem, my urologist suggested treatment with Forever pro 6.I took 3 per day for 1 month, symptoms dissapeared but after 3 month the problem is back again. Now I'm looking for something else.I think the cure had something to do with the sellenium contained in Pro 6 .

I believe its caused by cell phone radiation cooking your sperm..

Hi, been having these same problems with gelatine looking lumps in the semen and yellowish looking sperm. These two symptoms always come together and are sometimes accompanied with testicular pain and or pain in the groind area. The problems come and go, sometimes I'm good for several weeks then it comes back etc.

My first assumption was prostatitis. So I tried high dose ciprofloxacin, it seemed to work but it is difficult to know since it could have gone by itself as it does every now and then. Anyway, the problems returned a while after stopping ciprofloxacin and I was not too keen to go back on as cipro seemed to cause weakness and fainting(went down in the gym, great...).

Problem here is that nobody knows why prostatitis occurs or what it is...great right? We dont know why some antibiotics seem to work - the problem does not seem to be related to bacteria so it should not work in theory. Then again many drugs have effects that we are not yet aware of.

Now, I spoke to a specialist and he said he believed prostatitis is an effect of urine reflux between the prostate and the urine bladder. That is, small amounts of urine leaks into the prostate and cause irritation.
That could account for a yellowish semen. Now, how does this relate to the gelatine clumps?

Well quite a lot of glands are involved:
Testiclular glands, seminal vesicles, prostate gland
bulbourethral and urethral glands.

The main suspect is the seminal vesicles which produce the sticky mixture of proteins, enzymes, fructose, mucus, vitamin C, flavins, phosphorylcholine and prostaglandins that is more than half the volume of semen. Possibly, urine contamination could somehow change part of this sticky mass into gelatine clumps.

Now this is only one theory! Prostatitis is likely to be many different diseases or problems, but the symptoms described here seem likely to correlate with the theory I outlined above. The symptoms of prostatatis are deemed to be benign(not dangerous) but quite distressing. There is no link between prostatitis and testicular cancer as far as I know.

If you ever have pain in your testicles you need to be screened for testicular cancer people!! Very important! Go to your doctor at once...

Steroids will not make your penis smaller but it will decrease the amount of testosterone produced by the testicles(as steroids are testosterone analogues) eventually this can lead to loss of function, in popular terms shriveled testicles and impotence. I would not touch steroids without at least a phd in endocrinology...

Finally, for anyone with the symptoms described above - dont be satisfied with seeing a GP, you need to see a specialist in urology. Prostatitis is difficult for a GP to diagnose... He or she should send you to a specialist based on your anamnesis(your story) even if he finds nothing else.

I've kind of lost interest since my symptoms, at least the pain, went away but I kind of reignited when I saw this page. I wonder if anyone has analysed semen of a patient to see if there are any thraces of urine in it?

Hope this helps!

thats most likely a problem, could be a botched vasectomy.

thats exactly what it is, prostatitis. I, as well as thousands have the same issues and symptoms. Unfortunately its very hard to cure, and the bacteria has the tendency to immune itself to treatments. Ive been told its one of those things we just have to live with. If you would like you can seek out the MANY treatments for prostate "issues", ive yet to try them all there are alot of them and it will take years for an actual "trial" of them all. And high doses and long treatments of anti-biotics are dangerous in themselves. In my case my prostatitis lead to other complications, i now have cysts in my testicals, water or "hydroceles" and epididymitis, all stemming from the prostate infection. Not to mention decrease in sexual performance and arousement, etc. My case is a bad case though, im not meaning to alarm anyone. My opinion is if you ONLY have the prostate infection do yourself a favor and take GOOD care of yourself and use a treatment, and further complications should not arise. For the many that are already in later "stages", i welcome any and all suggestions, and or successes as i mentioned before i have had no luck so far in improving my condition. Thank you.
