I too have had this sensation for many years. It started at exactly the same time as my chronic Anxiety. Possible causes? I now believe that inflammation of the nervous system (brain and brain-body connections) is a common cause of Anxiety. Could this be inflammation of the Vagus nerve?
There are very many possible causes of the inflammation including stress, poor diet / lifestyle and a variety of chronic diseases

ive been having the sensation that feels like cold water being sprinkled between my shoulder blades. I have been diagnosed with C spine disease specifically stenosis in C4 and C5. Occasional numbness in my right arm but early on there was a dull pain in my left arm from the shoulder to the back on my hand. C spine sounds like a reasonable cause.
