Hi
I have recently being Diagnosed with my 4th Collapsed Lung
Mar 1997 took my 1st. Left side and 100% collapsed. Had to get the lovely drain in
Nov 1997 took my 2nd Left side and again the drain was inserted.. This time it wasnt a success and after 2weeks with this as my closest friend i had to be transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital.. Were they carried out surgery. I was never in my life glad to c the last of something.
Took my 3rd 2007 this time on my right.
Thank God it was only 10% collapsed and was auromatically sent for surgery to the City Hospital again for Surgery.
3 weeks ago ive taken my 4th. in my left lung again. It has collapsed now 20% and is quite painful.Did not show on the first 2 xrays...
I cant work as my energy levels are at an alltime low and just generally quite anxious all the time. There is a feeling of something lodged in my throat nearly all the time and to say that im completely fed up with this is an understatment.
i was told after the op that there would no chance of this ever happening again.
I am currently awaiting an appointment to see a thorasic surgoen.
Im very worried at what procedure they are going to carry out as my lung has being glued to my chest wall.
Its al little area that was left and they advised me that the stapled the little blisters down to prevent any collapsing in the future.
Has anyone got any ideas whats in front of me as im gonna be stuck in this torment for another 2weeks approx with waiting lists etc etc.............
Gail
