constant clear,thick, throat mucus

I have had the same issue (and still do).

 

I have been to my local GP who said it is a Nasal Drip (and common) - which is mucas is being delivered to the throat from the nasal area.

That is logical - I am trying to find the root cause - the mucus source should be the focus and then why this area is producing it.

I went to an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and he looked and his comment was it was my speech patterns which was the cause.

he suggested speech therapy which I will look at.

I need to know why the mucus glan is (over) producing this mucus.

 

HAVE YOU EVER LOOK INTO DAIRY OR MILK ALLERGY. HORRIBLE FEELING I KNOW FIRST HAND. I FELT DRY MOUTH, THROAT, LIPS, AND SKIN AFTER I HAVE DAIRY. IT ALSON MAKES MY WANT TO EXPELL OR CLEAR THE MUCUS OUT OF MY THROAT BECAUSE MY THROAT IS TIGHTEN AND IT CAUSES INFLAMMATION IN MY BODY. MY SUGGESTION IS CUT OUT CHEESE, ICE CREAM, OR ANY DAIRY PRODUCTS AND TAKE SOME BENADRYL TO SEE HOW YOU FEEL AFTER COUPLE OF WEEKS.

I've had this problem since birth. constant thick slime, mucus, filling up my entire throat. quite used to it, it's just that I like to sing a lot. preferably daily, which is a problem with all of the mucus. tried to get rid of it of course. read a lot of things. hot soup was supposed to help..I eat soup almost everyday for as long as I can remember. lemon would help. when I was about 13 I was obsessed with beauty and feeling too fat, desperately trying to lose weight and happened to come across a lot of tips to put several drops of lemon juice into your water. didn't help losing weight, neither to the mucus, even if I didn't mean to clear it with the lemon juice. I've read to drink a lot of water. I can drink all day, non stop, doesn't change a thing. and milk products, such as milk, yughurt drinks, yoghurt, pudding, even cookies or pancakes, makes it all twice as bad

I got it after taking musinex too! Now I'm hacking up in the morning and after I eat mostly

has any one tried af beta food for their stomach problems and what was the sucess or failuire. I started on it and was helped the lst night the 2nd,. day I was bad again , I had eaten sugar, gluten and dairy in some food and had a loose stool thenext morning.

I developed the same condition after an 11 day European Cruise (2011).

I have NEVER had this condition before or I have ever had allergies. I used the Transderm patch during the cruise and developed a severe rash on the application site. I also experienced severe motion sickness on my return home and was vomitting/dizzy for a number of days. My condition is not as severe as yours but no the less very annoying. My dr. recommended taking an antihistamine daily which helps but does not stop the problem. I am still constantly trying to get rid of the "glue" in the back of my throat.

I have had this problem on and off for about 4 years.  Having a really bad flare up right now.  Feels like a gagging sensation in my throat, constant belching, thick mucus coming up, & clear saliva constantly producing, burning in my chest.  feels like it's traveling up into my head sometimes.  I have never seen a doctor about it.   However, when I would drink Xango juice, the symptoms stopped coming.  I'd run out of it, and a few weeks without it, the symptoms would return.  I'd get the juice again, and the symptoms would stop.  I have been through this several times, and I know that the Xango juice totally helped me... it's just so cotton-pickin expensive, about $140 including shipping for 100 oz (which lasts me approx 50 days @ 2 oz a day).  But man I think I am going to have to get back on it again because I have had the symptoms again for couple of weeks & it's really really annoying, and beginning to make every day dreadful.  If you have the $$ you should try it, because it totally took away my symptoms.  You need to go to Xango.com and become a distributor in order to get it at wholesale price or find a distributor to order it through.  If you have the money it is so worth trying it.  You may even be able to start a business helping people with this problem. 

I am so happy to read that I am not alone suffering from this. I experience all the same symptoms, I've had all the same tests done and no one can confirm why this is happening. The only difference between me and everybody else is that my symptoms are worse in cold weather. As soon as summer is over I see my condition getting worse. I really don't understand why this is happening to me and what could be causing it :'(

I have had the clear thick throat mucus issue for about 1 month now.  It was preceded by a bout with pneumonia and possibly bronchitus.  I ended up in the emergency room one night because my airway "locked up".  I just saw an ENT Specialist and he did a video strobe of my throat area.  He determined that I have something called a laryngospasm.  Basically when I'm coughing up this mucus I'm also coughing up acid.  My vocal chords spasm or close up to prevent the acid from entering my lungs.  This lasts for about 5 to 10 seconds and is very scary.  He also thinks that my existing acid reflux is the culprit behind the spasms and the mucus.  My thraot area is very inflamed from the acid.  He just tripled my dosage of acid reflux meds to hopefully resolve both issues.  I've only been on the new dosage for about a day but already I'm seeing a lot less mucus.  Time will tell if this fixes the spasm and the mucus but I'm hopeful that I am on the path to recovery.

I was told the same thing but never in 69 yrs. have I had such a thing .After 2 hospitalization I'm curious. This is not normal having to pull the horrible string mucus out of my mouth. My nose is sore caked over dry. I'm on oxygen for COPD and just had CHF too

I have same promblem its scary. Hope u get better I can figure. It out either

I had my tonsils removed. I think that is why I am having the problem. My throat also swells almost shut than add the mucus. it is scary.

i had mucus in the back of my throat at night i am rest less i went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and cough syrup and i still has the same problem am not a smoker or a drinker
