Since 8th grade I've had a big problem with headaches almost all the time. However back then I had also the beginning of an alzer due to too much caffiene and stress, and just blamed them on that. Currently I'm 17 and I just can't deal with the headaches anymore, they're keeping me from doing the things I love like my sports, or even sometimes just going out. I've been to the doctor numerous times but each time she just says to take some tylenol or some such thing and it'll be ok. I've tried most everything from tylenol, advil, alieve, to perscribed high ammounts of ibuprofen and nothing is helping. Plus, I believe that over the course of time I've accumulated a very good tolerance to all of that because they just don't work anymore. I've done most everything from rating the pain to keeping a food log for the doctor and nothing much is working to help figure this out. I've asked about migranes and if those are what I have but my doctor always just says that those can't be the cause because I don't have the symptoms aside from the headaches.
I worry my parents with how now I can just referr to my headaches as ratings like normal, weak, tear-worthy, and such. However, now they've just given up on me and get mad whenever I mention how I have a headache, as if they believe that I'm making myself have a headache on purpose. Please help, I have no idea what to do and now that I'm in my Junior year and prepping even more for college I can't have these headaches around so much. Advice and help is appreciated! Thank you!

Yeah, headaches suck . . . I hit my head in April and haven't been right since, went to a neurologist who believes it will clear up in October . . . some kinda post concussion syndrome . . . it put me on my ass for a while, slowly getting my life back, daily headaches, although not as bad . . . my ears are bothering me too though, they feel like they have wettness inside them but the doctors said that might just be eustachian dysfunction . . . I've had a CT scan of my scull to check for a fracture, a CT scan to look for bleeding and a MRI scan for a cerebrospinal fluid leak . . . nothing major found but these symptoms are bah . . .
My advice to you . . . ask about intracranial hypertention and ask to see a neurologist, the disorder is more common in overweight females and if left untreated might cause blindness, so yeah, stay on top of it and just try to take it easy.

I can completely sympathise with you MLD-Star, I have had a constant headache now for 23 years and my parents were the exact same, as were my friends and work colleges.
I would recommend asking for a scan and to see a neurologist about them.
Pain killers do not help me anymore however the doctor has recently prescribed me with some called Solpadol, these are very strong pain killers and do make my headaches a bit less painful but the do make me dizzy and tired. Possibly ask your doctor for these pain killers and see if they help you aswell
