I have lived with this my entire life! all doctors say that I am totally normal so I am SO happy to see that other people have this issue and I'm not some freak of nature. If you find out anything about this problem PLEASE reply to this message. I am at the point where it is impossible to live a normal life. the worst part is that trained ENT's tell me that I'm normal even after breaking down in tears and telling them that its ruining my life. I pray someone finds a solution to this!!!

I have the same problem you and Lily_Rose do. I've had it since the last time I got tubes in my ears at age 10. It's annoying. I've tried everything, even a chiropractor, thinking maybe a bone in my neck was pressing on the tubes from my ears. No luck though...

My doctor said my ear drum looked like it had plastic wrap around it. I, too, have had this problem since I was young. This may have started around the time I got my tonsils out and tubes put in my ears. I wonder if that is what we all have in common?

I didn't know that other people had this problem
I thought it was just me
But that kinda sucks that there is not actually treatment for it

I've had tubes put in and taken out and I think put back in when I was younger. When I was young I would try to explain it to my parents, grandmother, and doctor but no one ever knew what I meant when I said I would sniff and make the noise more quiet. I hate it now. I can barely hear anything and I think this is the main reason. I've been told the only solution is getting tubes put back in but I don't think this is the only solution. There should be a solution if there are more people like me out there that want to live a normal life that can't.

Please look at a condition called Patulous Eustachian Tube (PET), where the tube stays open when it should be closed causing autophony (you can hear your own voice inside you amplified, also breathing, heart beat, chewing and walking). I have lived with the condition all my life. None of you are going mad and there are things that can be done to help. I have recently had bioplastique injected into my eustachian tubes which has helped.
There is a support group on Facebook.
I hope this helps,
Sarah

I am a 43 year old man that had popping ears for about 34 years. I yawn, chew, sneeze, talk, laugh, breathe deep, etc and my ears pop. Thousands of times weekly. It started when I sneezed and held back the sneeze. That pressure blows the eardrums. That's why when its popped everything is loud and your own voice is a screaming vibration in your head. It's very hard to carry on a conversation. Mine never got better.

I did some research and I found a video on youtube where a gentleman explains a method that cured this condition in a few months, type " patulous eustachian tube possible fix" in the search bar and the video should come out, i am currently trying and i will try to remember to update my results, i wish myself luck!

It's a relief to look this up and see others are struggling too. I have this as well and it's been going on for as long as I can remember (14 now) I have seen an ear specialist but they didn't seem to know why. Should I go back and expain better (because I was young) has anyone found anything that helps
