I'm having some of the same issues. I had a sudden onset of slight burning starting half way through urination and then a feeling of not completely voiding. A few minutes after urinating, the burning would go away. I immediately started the Macrodantin I had for self treatment of uti's. The symptoms were not my usual uti symptoms, but figured it must be a uti. After 2 days, it started receding and then came back full force, but with a burning that made my eyes water and the feeling of still needing to go. I went to the Dr and the urine test came back negative, but they thought it may be due to my use of the macrodantin. I was given a 7 day treatment of Macrobid and it started to recede. Then I had sex after my second night on it and the next day it returned but not as severe.
After using a mirror and checking out my girlie parts, I saw that the inside if my labia was a little raw looking on the side that burned most. I decided to try giving it a barrier against the urine to see if that stopped the burning. I've used both plain Vaseline and Aquaphor on both sides of my labia.
HUGE difference!!! Barely any burn after first try. I highly recommend trying this until you can get into your Dr. I am going back to the Dr on Monday to test for a yeast infection and will keep this thread posted.

Yes, but not typical. I have been put on different meds to stop bleeding due to a fibroid that is causing havoc with my uterus. I have a very slight discharge since I've started a new type of 'the pill'. It has been consistant from the start of the pack. There is no odor or itching from it. The only symptoms have been the burning (mainly on one side) and feeling of still needing to void when I'm done urinating. After I'm zipped up and hands are washed, it's gone. Although using the vaseline barrier has really limited the burning feel.

doesn't sound like a yeast infection with no white discharge

I kind of think that too, but not sure what to think. I have found plenty of sites that talk about this same thing and the women are trying everything to get an answer. In a weird way it made me feel better knowing others were experiencing the same thing and at least I found something to help with the burning. Inexpensive help too.

Yes, but I've had varied results. More often than not, I've had to get a prescription to clear it up. Currently with all the complications I've been having from this fibroid, I'm a bit timid to try things down there without my Dr's input. :-/

i found that for a friend of mine who had a bad yeast infection and wanted relief while she waited for a doctors appointment and she said they gave great relief

The one thing that worked best for me was the yogurt soaked tampon. Sounds awful and was messy when first trying to master it, but worked well eventually. All of my past yeast infection symptoms were odor and discharge only, but no itching. I'm really at a loss at what the cause of this is.

Does it tend to make you tense up when you urinate? If you do it sounds like cystitis

I told her that one to but think she used a sweetened yogurt rather than natural as she said the soaked tampon made it ten times worse lol

Lol yes sweetened yogurt was a mistake. Poor lady.
No, I have no tensing, just feel like I need to pee some more even though I'm on empty.
