I have been getting injections in my spine and tailbone area for a few years every six months, they sure help my leg and back pain, I had a neck injections also, it helped a lot with pain in my arm and neck, hurts while needle gives the medication but in a few minutes that is over, I didn't need more injections for over a year, now I have arm and neck pain coming back so will do it again soon. Good luck. Mrs. Carpenter

My question is, after the epidural cortisone shots in the neck do they prescribe pain medication for you afterwards?

I just had the shot today, so long term I don't know yet but my doctor sprayed some numbing medicine on my neck first. Then injected my muscle. Not even near the spine. I was scared to death and told him so when he asked me if I was interested in getting the shots, as a matter of fact my exact words were "It scares the sh*t out of me".

Hope it all goes well for you.

Hi, i am a 50 years old female smoker who is still having her period in every 2 months and i had my cortisone injection placed into my neck on 30th of November 2016 and after 5 days of the injection, i have been suffering from neck pain and anesthesia starting from the neck to my chin and through the cheeks and going up ending to the under of the eyes and into my eyebrows. Also, at the start i have had lost my lust in sexuality. I can't enjoy having sex i cant even feel something. But now, i feel like there is an improvement in sex. But In addition, when i stand up i feel dizzy like i wanna faint. I cant drive. Also i am suffering pain in both of my shoulders. Is this normal for a person who had the cortisone injection almost nearly a month ago? I am worried. is there any replacement for pain relief other than the cortisone? I dont have disk.
