Dilaudid vs Morphine

as a disabled vet I have something to say to those people who say that whoever takes these meds are addicts/druggies etc...Even alot of Dr's have the same perception. My opinion is that until you have experienced what we have, shut your f'n mouths!!!!! Some of these meds are the only thing that help us get through each day. Especially when you (like me are a single parent of 3)...as they say, walk a mile in someone elses shoes before judging!!!!

Bang oil products in a vapor cartridge only works pure thc,cbs ,and cbn is the only thing that would help you get a medical marijuana license

Ask your Dr about adding a steroid medicine to help with pain. Also phenergan if you Pcp will prescribe helps narcotic work better. Hot showers or baths as hot as you can stand helps with the stiffness in joints reading pain.

l was on 4perks a day plus 100mg of oxyneo 120mg total them neos are the worst pill on earth it woulg take 3 hours for the neos to start working so i would eat my perks because they work fast so i was eating my break trought pills now im on 2 12mg hdromorph contin 1 every 12 hours and 4 4mg hydromorphone 40mg total they work so well you wont believe the differance its night and day perks kill pain they just dont last with perks i was taking to many as you no they dont have long legs try it

and when you start on a dose of 40mg theres room to go up when you get to use to them max dose is 90mg a day i no because i go to rothbart pain clinic in to for injections to freeze my nerve ending the doctors there are world renowed pain doctors they no all about pain meds going there they tell you they cant take you out of pain for me it took 25percent of my pain away still worth it with severe back pain you can check out rothbart pain clinic it will cut some of your pain down good luck change meds you wont regret it you no it if you dont change meds we need more and more

afer starting on the hydro family i will never go back to the oxycodone family and if you ever go on oxys dont take them oxyneos the apos are good thats just like the oringal oxycontin they come in a 10mg 20mg 40mg or 80mg they are a good pill as well just remember they are called apos if i where you i would go on the 40mg i said 2 12mg and 4 4mg for breakthrougth pain cant go wrong my word god bless to you and your family its hard always being in pain i had to retire at 43 25yrs underground

The drs want her off the dilaudid because they do not her to develop a tolerance to the drug, once the dilaudid stops working they will have to go to fentanyl patches. Often times drs are stingy with the drugs because they are concerned about running up the scale of drugs too quickly. However if she is terminal, which I am sorry to hear, keeping her comfortable is the most important thing. Do not be afraid to stand up to the drs and tell them what works for her, every patient is different and many docs follow the boxes taught in medical school with little consideration of a patient's individual needs. If the docs do not keep her comfortable demand that she a pain management specialist and/or find a different oncologist or work with a family physician who better understands her individual needs.

Its NOT the narcotic thatyu need to be worried about (so much) it is the ACETAMINOPHEN which causes the aliver the metabolism problems.

i know im late to reply here but i still thought id let you know my experience. i was hit by a drunk driver twice in seperate occasions. i lost everything - the pain was unberable and now i have a spine condition called lordosis which is the most painful thing to go through :( i was put on 10mg oxy's which i took 3 to 4 times a day. morning noon night. for 3 years. it really did help me - the only downfall would be that after awhile your body becomes dependant and then its a struggle to get off. i was put on hydromorphone 18mgs with 2mg dilauded ( short acting ) i walked into an appointment taking oxys and left the office taking a totally new medication. i was scared! i didnt wanna go through withdrawl but i most importantly the pain. the sharp tailbone pain. i cant go out with my friends, even sitting on a toilet. it is just awful. and as scary as it was to switch over - i did. just like that. and it is working! im now stabalized with the18mgs and the dilauded is for in between if i need it. minimal problems and i switched like as easy as 1,2,3. because its still in the opioid family - you shouldnt get sick. maybe a tad uncomfertable but even that was not the case/

It sounds like to me that you have a P450-2D6 Metabolism Disorder. This is a Gentic Disorder ALOT of people have and are not tested for it. It doesn't allow pain medication to work for you and can become toxic to your body giving you the side effects without the Pain relief. A Doctor can either test your bodywork or a swab is used to test this disorder. My daughter and I both have this disorder. Pain doctors aren't aware of this disorder when in 2008 I had a Top physician test me because I wouldn't get relief from medication. Physic Medication was one of the reasons why I got tested. I got side effects that were rare and for years doctors thought I was lying and reading the side effects even in a mental hospital then the Doctors thought I was asking other patients about their side effects. Like Really? I had cancer for years and nobody knew the Doctors and every hospital missed it. A fertility doctor found my cancer. At Age 14 I was taken to the hospital in so much pain and vomiting. My Mother took me to the hospital and they shot me up with ALOT of pain medication and it didn't do anything for my pain. I was screaming and crying on the floor and the Doctor just said I don't understand and sent me home. Every month I suffered severely. Nothing helped me. Doctors believed when I got in my 20-50 years old I was a DRUG seeker. Which was far from the truth. I never abused drugs. I have a Brain Tumor, WHITE Matter Disease and multiple other Medical conditions including Lupus. I wish you luck with your problems. A psychiatrist can order this testing for you. I can't touch physic medication it actually caused multiple psychiatric disorders mimicking conditions. I had to be detoxify from all medication to become normal again. My daughter has the same condition and I knew when she got no pain relief from a 5 Percocet for severe pain. Also physic medication caused craziness behaviors and she wouldn't listen for years just got tested and does have this disorder also. We also don't clear medication well and suffer lengthen withdrawal symptoms months versus everyone else weeks. Good Luck!
