Hi. I'm 13 and I haven't had my period yet but for the past few days I've noticed a little brown discharge in my panties, my discharge is normally white or clear (Of course.) I've also been experiencing some cramps. Does this mean I'm going to start my period soon? I've been worrying none stop sense it started. HELP!!!
Hi there It is very likely a sign that your body is changing & preparing itself for starting your periods, yes. Period blood can often be brown, especially at the beginning or end of a period. It sounds like what you are experiencing is 'spotting', where you get small amounts of blood or bloody/brown discharge, every now and then. This is normal. You may find that you get this on and off for a while, before you eventually settle into a once per month cycle. It can be a bit inconvenient, & you might want to use panty-liners (very thin sanitary towels), just to save you worrying about any mess or inconvenience. You're becoming a woman <hugs> :-)Loux
