Yeah so sometimes when I get up after sitting for awhile I get really dizzy and everything gets darker and I try to walk it off and it goes away after like 15 seconds. I don't know if it's the same thing as you guys but just thought I should share... also today it happened when I got up to put a game in my xbox and I couldn't put it on the disc tray because I almost blacked out and I looked around and realized what was happening so I breathed in very fast and I almost had an anxiety attack but it went away in 15 seconds again

I have had this since I was a kid and I have FINALLY found out what it is. I was diagnosed with a variant of Narcolepsy - and we think this might be the cataplexy.

Do you have issues with sleepyness during the day? Is your diet high in sugars? Ie; high GI. I used to blame it on hypoglycemia, but now my Dr is wondering if it's part of my narcolepsy as cataplexy

could be postural hypotension, especially if it happens when you have been sat for a while then stand up and stretch

It's definitely not postural hypotension - I occasionally get that and it's not the same. This can be felt all over the body, and feels tingly - sort of like pins and needles. Postural hypotension feels more like light headed. This is very heavy in the head, and the limbs just stop working. When it starts I get an idea pretty quickly how bad it's going to be. If it's a bad one I will lie on the floor as it's coming on and sometimes wake up twitching. I also think some of it has to do with diet. I have noticed since the narcolepsy diagnosis, that this stretching and blacking out only happens when I am in a narcolepsy cycle (it cycles on which is triggered by something - usually a fairly big fatiguing event), and then cycles off and I am normal for 6 to 8 weeks. I have tried to stretch to bring it on, and it doesn't happen. However, when I am in a narcolepsy cycle, it can happen. I had one the other week and I haven't had one for over 12 months, and wondered why it started again. Then remembered the cataplexy (we thought my narcolepsy variant didn't have cataplexy which isn't uncommon). I have spoken to the sleep specialist about it, and he said he hadn't heard of the stretching, but the symptoms I describe does sound like cataplexy. I am not 100% certain it is cataplexy, but its definitely not postural hypotension.

I am 14 years old and The same exact thing happened to me just now, i walked into the kitchen to get something to eat.
I stretched and the next thing i know, i woke up on the floor.
I felt a tingling sensation in my body
I went upstairs to my mom to ask her if she heard a thump and she said she didnt hear anything. I felt like i was zoning out, like i wasnt there

Sounds like me when I was 12. Can I ask - what was the last thing you ate before that point, and how long before did you eat it? Eg; toast wit honey 2 hours before.

This happens to me sometimes but I did this once and when I realised what I was doing I was uncontrollably shaking and moving all over my desk

This happens to me during meditation sometimes, and in yoga! I actually love the feeling...my body trembles inside and my brain stops thinking altogether. Afterward I'm so calm. I alway thought of it as connecting to the universe. Haha

I know you put this up a long time ago but I have the exact same thing and was wondering did you ever find out what it was?

This has been happening to me for years, sitting at my desk working and then have a little stretch and it's off with the fairies for a little while. I always feel a bit flat afterwards with a funny feeling in my head.

I was also diagnosed as having a cough syncope a few years back. I believe that is related to to the yawning as it creates a similar outcome. Sometimes when I would have a cough or laugh I would just drift off/collapse and wake up with the sensation of my hand/arm performing spasms. I was a policeman for many years and when the Police Medical Officer found out I was having these issues they discharged me medically unfit. So a small problem can have a large impact on your chosen career if it is seen as a problem. My suggestion is to learn to live with it and keep it to yourself.

I have a feeling that are hard to describe on the days when I will have these little episodes and make sure I very aware of it when I am driving or the like.
