I have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). Basically, my body's autopilot doesn't deal well with standing or sitting upright. The vasoconstriction and other mechanisms fail to keep my blood pressure and heart rate and oxygenated blood distribution anything like sensible. Walking or running is bad, or upright bicycling, or other upright exercise, but standing in line or climbing stairs is awful. I also have a related issue called vasovagal syncope (VVS) or neurocardiogenic syncope (NCS), among other names. Again, the body's autopilot is just mishandling things. In this case, things like getting enough blood to the brain even when I yawn, or have a bowel movement. I may get lightheaded and tingly and limp -- and hopefully, it stops there. I haven't had full syncope in a few years, since my doctors and I figured out what I had and learned how to better manage these conditions. It takes some trial and error, as everyone's body is so different. For me, what helps is, lots of water; a high-salt diet; properly fitted medical graduated compression hose; a lot of careful exercise, including some pilates and some pool exercises;: resting early and often; and a couple of prescription meds. Many other conditions can cause lightheadedness and even syncope (fainting), but these may be worth considering.

Okay well it's happening a lot and I'm really starting to get worried, I ask people around me and they think I'm playing or being stupid, when I get up from sitting down and stretch my head starts spinning and I loses all of my strength, the first time it happened I collapse and hit my bead pretty hard but because I can sometimes see it coming so to speak I just put my self to the floor so I don't hurt my self, when I'm on the floor even though my eyes are open I can't see anything and I stop breathing, but it's not like I'm suffocating it's like I'm holding my breath but I'm not doing it on purpose, also when this is happening I feel something though my entire body that I don't know how to explain but it's not a bad feeling, it's just really wired because it's like nothing I've felt before, that's why I can't explain it. All this last for about 10 to 15 seconds and then it's like normal and when I get up I don't feel any different. It happens once or twice a week. Can anyone help me explain what's wrong?

it usually feels like a pulsing feeling in my head, my vision gets very dark and i fall forwards. sometimes i actually purposly fall on my bed in a dramatic and funny fashion just because if im dying i want it to look funny when they find my body lol. also it helps to try to be aware of the things around you i find, such as foccusing on moving your fingers in a certain order and than mimic it on the other hand in the opposite way.
