Do you use this on every run, or just long ones?
I used some yesterday for a 1 hour run. It seemed like I had a little more at the end than usual, so now I'm debating on using some tonight for a shorter run or if I should just use it exclusively for long runs or speed work.

I use gel on longer runs and sometimes a shot before Tuesday speedwork (depending on how my nutrition has been during that day).

I only use Gu during runs > 15. Even then, normally I don't even do the gu unless I'm specifically training for something where I'll be using it.

I use it for runs over 5 miles. I find that it usually helps out quite a bit.

I've only used them for long runs but I can see where they may be beneficial at other distances. Whatever works for you must be right!

i use powergels on runs longer than 8 miles...however, i've been told that GU is much easier to use. can't find that stuff here though.

i swear the gel thing is in my mind though. i imagine them helping me and i think i run easier because of it...

need to find GU.

i hate the sticky fingers though.

I only use it on longer runs of say 12 miles or more. Usually to get me used to what I plan on doing for half marathons and marathons.

I generally only use Gu on longer runs over 1:15. But if I'm hungry before my morning run or before a speed workout I'll have one. Have you tried the new flavor? Capuccino something. It has extra caffeine.

long runs (15+) when the run is at a harder pace than easy.....or on runs that will take me forevah to finish because I've gone slow, walked, stopped at a spot to pick up a straggler, and/or stopped at McDonalds to get water, pottied up and stood around and my 18 mile run ends up a 4 hour outing and I didn't have breakfast.

Just started training with them.
Use GU at mile 15.
It does help.
Like the chocolate the best.
