I can understand you. I remember when I heard that I should have surgery. But you really don't need to be afraid. The cataract surgery does not hurt and it does not take very long. They usually use local anesthesia. You will see that this procedure involves minimal discomfort. Good luck!

Surgery for cataract is one of the most common performed surgeries and one of the quickest surgeries there are. So this is a routine procedure which if I am not mistaking will not hurt at all. I think hat you have some discomfort after it but this is nothing to worry about because it will pass in matter of day or two. I think that the procedure will be over in thirty or thirty five minutes but after the procedure you will have to wearer some glasses until your eye is back to normal. You should discuss this with your doctor as well before you have the surgery to see what he will tell you.

I had cataract surgery on my right eye on Monday. I was not apprehensive at all. It turned out to be the most excruciating experience of my 63 years, and I've gone through 10 operations, three pregnancies and a concussion. Others were coming out of the operating room saying they "didn't feel a thing." So I guess it just depends on your doctors and your body. I complained at my follow-up, but they never said they were sorry. Good luck. I'm scheduled for eye # 2 in three weeks and I'm terrified.
