not really. bleeding has nothing to do with loss of virginity. someone who has had sex many times might bleed for entirely different reasons and a virgin might not bleed at all.

it depends, everyone see's it differently, i would say that you only lost it if you'd had sex.

I am fully agreed...
If you had sex at least one time then only can you loose virginity..
else you are still virgin...

i think just keep it real... why does it matter?
because everyone seems to think virginity is an absolute, then obviously different people are going to draw the line at different places.

penis enters vagina, = virginity lost.

Many people view loss of virginity on a whole spectrum of infinite possibilities. For example, some people believe the moment you have any form of contact with any genitalia other than your own, the entire virgin gig is over. I, however, see loss of virginity as the moment when his penis enters your vaginal canal.

So If you made genital to genital contact, and his mystical spear soared through the gates of heaven.

YOU'RE VIRGINITY HAS BEEN TERMINATED. ;-)

(But the bleeding doesn't necessarily have to do with that. Sometimes even masturbation can cause a spot or two. "It's all about penetration", as my health teacher so aptly stated in high school.)

bleeding does not mean that you lost your virginty! I never had any bleeding! Loosing your virginity is having intercourse

I need an urgent answer please. I accidentally broke my hymen in masturbation a couple of years ago and I have received a letter from the doctors and have missed a phone call. They want me to have the cervical cancer jab however I have heard that you cannot have it after having sex. I am really a virgin however with this having happened, can I not have the jab? Also, they want to update my records. Do I come under sexually active? I really don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance for any help!

as far as i know there is no reason you can't have the cervical cancer vaccine after having sex. either way, you have NOT had sex so it is not an issue. now i am slightly uncertain as to the exact definition of "sexually active", i think it can either mean that you have a "current" sexual partner or that you have had sex. you ARE NOT sexually active.

The only concern about sexual activity is if you have contracted HPV, so that's what the problem they're trying to weed out is. Don't worry about it if you masturbated. You still count as sexually inactive. Does that make sense?

Yes, virginity means that you haven't had penetrative sex yet in the physical sense. Does this mean you're not a virgin if you have a hymen and it breaks during bike riding or something? Of course not. But, think in a more figuritive sense. With all of the types of "sex" out there that are "non-commital," are you really staying a complete and whole virgin? Anal and oral sex, dry humping, masturbation, fingering, and everything else is taking parts of your virginity away in a different sense. You aren't emotionally whole anymore or mentally because you've now given parts of that to some guy one night, and then possibily another guy the next night. What if you get married in the future? How much of yourself will there be left to totally give to your spouse? Penetrative or not, it's sex on different degrees, and in order to best avoid the stress of unanswered questions, missed periods, questionable virginity, etc. save yourself completely until marriage.

i agree with you there...i think it's retarded to even think about getting a hymen replaced. it's not the real deal. you're paying money to a doctor to attach a thin piece of skin that may or may not have even existed in you in the first place. i was born without one, but the doctor could still tell my mother i was a virgin. i was checked when i was 16 and yes i was still a virgin, i got married at 21 and lost my virginity to my husband...no i didn't have a hymen but it was the first time i had anything inserted in me...so if you want to pay for it go ahead but just know that there are facts that a replacement hymen is not the real thing and it may hurt more than the original hymen you had when it is broken or ruptured...the fact is it's a laser surgery and it leaves scar tissue that may complicate other normal things for you in the future, so if you're planning on having this surgery weight the pros with the cons before you rush into things. the scar tissue can develop more problems in the future just to hide the fact that you acted foolishly and didn't think before you acted. a penis inside you left you unpure anyway. the fact that you try to cover it up with a replacement piece of skin isn't going to hide the truth that you are no longer a virgin. these things can be discovered by any doctor even with a replacement. they can see the marks from the laser surgery and they can see the small tissue rips from the penis entering your vagina. so either way your busted why shell out a bunch of dough to try to hide it?

Not necessarily, Jenny. If you had sexual intercourse, yes it does. If you did not have intercourse, then the answer is no, even though your maidenhead (hymen) may be ruptured. "Virginity" doesn't mean an intact maidenhead, it means a state of not having had sexual intercourse.
